I visited Dr, Fenzl late last fall to check on status of my cataracts and also because my sister had been diagnosed with glaucoma, after the initial exam, they wanted 1 more picture before I left. later that day, Dr. Fenzl left me a message asking me to call because we had something to discuss. Thats never good, docs dont usually call themselves. It turned out from that last picture that I had a hole in my retina that need speedy attention or I could lose the vision I had in the eye if the hole got bigger. He referred me to Dr. Kirk from ESA, who did surgery for that in November, Thank God for both doctors, that was a successful surgery, but, the cataracts especially in that eye had gotten much worse, so I have to correct them now, but it could have been much worse had I not known about the macular hole first. although the visits to ESA are always LONG, I feel you get good attention. Dr. Fenzl took time to discuss my options for my cataract surgery and will be scheduled soon.
