Would not recommend Mann Eye to anyone. They lie about their surgery and what they will do to you. Was told if paid extra money would have cataract removed, new lens inserted, astigmatism corrected and vision corrected for one eye. Confirmed with multiple people in the staff before and after surgery. Saw Dr Mann two months after surgery and was told got basic lens, just paid a bunch of money to use a laser during part of the surgery. Then had him and his staff repeatedly try to convince to have surgery on the other eye and was told 5 different ways to fix the problem they caused with the first eye by not doing what they were supposed to do in the first place. They are not in business to help you. They are in business to help themselves to your money and that is all they care about.

Sadly, the doctor did not even check my vision, some girl did. Not ONCE did he have me read the eye chart. When she went to put the dilating drops in my eyes, I said, "Wait, doesn't the Doctor need to check my vision?" She said, "No, I've already done that, I spent years at Georgetown University learning how to do this." She seemed insulted that I would ask. but she isn't a Doctor. I'm not sure that it is a legal function for a ophthalmologist assistant. The Dr was pretty cold and unfriendly and he never looked into my dilated eyes, only spent a few minutes checking to see if the contacts fit well. I don't feel like I was given a thorough eye exam, and I don't think that the prescription is correct.
It's sad when big corporations come in and take over. When I dial the number, it rings somewhere else and I have to be transferred. It's a little like Walmart has taken over, if you like big corporate business practices, this might be for you. If you expect the Doctor to know who you are, then this is not the place for you.

I had made in appointment with the optometrist Dr. Janes to get my new prescription. The front desk staff and everyone else was very friendly. I went in for the exam and a lady started doing my whole eye exam. After about 15-20 minutes of the exam I asked her who she was and informed her that my appointment was with Dr. Janes. She stated she is the Medical assistant for Dr. Janes and he will see me after she is finished with my eye exam. She proceeded to fully examine my eyes as though she was the optometrist. She spent close to 25-30 minutes examining my eyes. After she finished she informed me that my number has not changed much and was pretty close to my previous number. I was shocked that my eye exam was fully done by the MA instead of the optometrist.

After about 5 minutes and Dr. Janes came to see me. I asked him why my exam was fully performed by a MA instead of him. He stated he is a part of a medical group and this is the "model" that works for their practice. He then stated that he will check my eyes to make sure the prescription that the MA had stated was correct. He spent all of 4-5 minutes checking my eyes and informed me what my prescription was.

I have been going to optometrists for years and this is the first time that my full eye exam was done by the MA instead of the optometrist. I still have not figured out if Dr. Janes is incompetent, lazy or just idiotic to have his patients fully examined by a MA. I do not agree with his "MODEL" and if I was warned my eyes would have been checked by a medical assistant rather than a optometrist would have gladly taken by business elsewhere. Please be warned that if you are planning to see Dr. Janes, he will spend approx 4-5 minutes checking your eyes and all other work will be done by his medical assistant.
