Have been waiting 3 weeks for frames, and have been told every week that they will be there Tuesday, which they are closed. There seems to be no urgency to remediate the problem. My son cannot see without them, and has missed school as well as practice because of this.

Horrible. Tried to dialate my eyes without telling me luckily they only got one cause I was by myself and had to drive. Have had corrective lenses for both eyes for years and now they said I only need one corrective lens. Rude and didnt listen when I was speaking.

***This review is especially pertinent to people with severe eye prescriptions.

My negative review is not a reflection of my experience in the office at Mann Eye, but a reflection of their recommendation for me to move forward with LASIK at all.

My eyesight is fairly bad (-8.0) and I also have astigmatism. I had been told by my regular eye doctor a couple of years ago that I likely wasn't a candidate for LASIK because my corneas are thin, but I wanted to check regardless. I wanted to see if my likelihood of candidacy had changed given the updated laser (vs. scalpel) technology.

I had been recommended to Mann Eye by a number of people who said they had an amazing experience, but none of them had eyesight as bad as mine.

The staff and doctors at Mann Eye were fantastic during my consultation. I felt they were very thorough and everyone was friendly. That day, they told me I was an amazing candidate. Even in the consultation, I told them this really surprised me because of what my regular doctor had warned. But they said the technology had improved and I was a fantastic candidate. They did say that other places might not say the same, but that it was only because their technology wasn't as good.

I decided to get a second opinion and went to Eye LASIK Austin, who very quickly told me that not only was I NOT a good candidate, but that if I moved forward with having LASIK to 100% correct my eyesight, I'd have irreperable vision issues for the rest of my life. That was horrifying to hear because I was this close to scheduling an appointment for the procedure with Mann Eye.

Of course, it's completely up to any individual to do the due diligence to ensure they're making the best medical decision for them, but I do find it frightening that Mann Eye was so enthusiastic about the quality of my candidacy for this surgery. It could have altered my life completely.

I don't write this review lightly. I never write reviews on Yelp. But I want to warn anyone with severe eyesight that Mann Eye might tell you that you are a candidate even if you aren't. I highly recommend getting a second opinion. I'm sure there are a ton of complexities to this, but this was just my experience and it was a frightening one.
