    I had the worst experience at Mann Eye Institute! They recommended the premium cataract laser surgery. l had the procedure done and my eyes are worse! I paid close to $10,000 for the procedure, prescriptions, follow-up visits, etc. I explained that I was tired of taking my glasses on and off for distance and for close up vision and reading. I had a pair of reading glasses, but never needed them. I was told I would not have to wear glasses. On occasion, I may have to wear "reading" glasses. They also said that this would procedure would improve my night vision. I was very excited! Dr Mike Mann said I would be able to see 20/20. I now use three pairs of prescription glasses; a pair for distance, a pair of reading glasses, and prescription sunglasses. I have to wear glasses at ALL times! I am unable to read the dials or keypads on the microwave, air fryer, thermostat, alarm system, etc. It is very frustrating! My eyes are very dry and I must use two types of eyedrops daily. I was not a good candidate for this procedure due to my medical condition already causing dry eyes. The doctors should have reviewed my medical history before recommending the surgery. I wrote several letters to Mann Eye Institute about my disappointment of the outcome. They never responded. Please do your research before getting a procedure done, and read every disclosure, before you sign. If it states that you may have to wear glasses, be sure to insert "reading", before "glasses". I should have had the basic cataract surgery covered by insurance. I would still have my $10,000 and not have the extremely dry eyes and headaches! I know this is a lengthy review, but felt I needed to share my entire experience.

    So many reasons why I will not be returning to this business. To start, Dr Mann claimed he was not young enough to do my surgery and insulted me by saying my cataracts were from a third world country. Second, don't provide them with a card to place on file because they cause returns and unexpected charges on your bank account. They claim they give you several days notice first, but that did not happen and now they won't and don't pay for returned fees on your bank account. I plan and budget my money, and surprise withdrawals out of someone's bank account is a very bad way to do business.

    This place, one star tops..For a regular eye exam it took me over 2 hourswhich is super ridiculous, then they told me I can reschedule another time if I can not wait, r u kidding me? I want to sue you if I can!I have never experienced such a long waiting my entire life for an routine eye exam all my lifeMost of the time here are waitingThey put an assistant or sth check your eye firstThen wait for the doc to come inAdding more people to the procedure does not make your place professionalI would not come back again

    Horrible horrible experience, waited two hours back and forth for a stupid regular eye exam. And I was told if I didn't want to wait I can reschedule. The nurses are jumping around feeling like jokes, they put you in a small room waiting like staying in a jail. Two hours ...... r u kidding me? Then the minute I walked out of the door the nurse called me to reschedule, then I was telling her my schedule she cut me off in the middle, and said I ll call you back, then she disappeared and never heard back from her. I don't like doc Chin who is super assertive and bossy, and I don't think she is professional either, she is giving me a strong feeling for promoting the laser surgery then I googled her! Here we go, specialist in laser treatment. hmmm, I would never come back to this place and right after that, I got my self a new eye doc, while, welcome to Houston, first time visit to a eye doctor while it it horrible.

    Keep an EYE out for this practice. No price transparency of services, predatory price gouging practices, and diagnoses that fuel nothing but their bottom line. If you ask them about price up front, they wont give you an answer, but then will charge you huge on the backend. Even with insurance, youll end up paying a fortune. They still have yet to breakdown the price item by item and instead lump it all under an overarching office visit fee.Their customer service is rude and argumentative until they want to save their reputation by placing an advocate on your case who does not advocate, but instead drags out the process and wastes your time for nothing to change. Best of luck dealing with this practice!
