My overall experience at Mann Eye Institute was AMAZING! From the consultation, the surgery and everything after every member of the staff was excellent! They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with everything happening. My couselor Roland did a great job explaining all the details and helping me schedule appointments at a good time for me. The receptionists Kristin and Joan greeted me by name each time I walked in (so did all of the other staff). Dr. Barker and Alyssa did an amazing job of keeping me calm during the surgery and telling me how great I was doing. Kristin even held my hand! Each person working there is so great! I got hugs from everyone at my visit the day after! I would recommend going to Mann Eye Institute to anyone. Amazing, excellent, superb customer/patient satisfaction!

OK, so I was the biggest skeptic of this new technology but I am so thankful I finally decided to do it. The hardest part was literally willing myself to go into the appointment surgery morning. brbrI got my eyes done by Dr. Mann Sr. and he was a great doc to have. He has wonderful bedside manner to calm you down and talks you through the entire process. He truly is amazing at what he does, especially when you watch the video of your surgery it. The video will make you cringe but amazed that you didnt feel any pain! The most uncomfortable part for me was when they held my eyes open for the first eye, it felt a little rough but the second eye was a breeze. You lay down, look at the light, things happen very quickly, and somehow youre walking out of the room. brbrLuckily Mann Eye has a financing option or this would not have been possible for me. I went from not being able to see the classroom board sitting five feet away to how seeing 20/15. Maybe I can be one of the cool kids sitting in the back now haha. If youre scared but super over the fact that you arent functional without your glasses take the leap! This place is professional and will not let you wait around their office long. My appointments were all on time and efficient. Surgery day I was only there for an hour and a half. After the procedure I came home, passed out, and when I woke up I was already cooking and doing everything I had planned to put off that night. brbrI am a believer. This is truly a life hanging experience. The investment will pay off through work, school, driving, a walk in the park etc etc. brbrI hope this review gives you an idea of how all this works but feel free to message me for specifics. I hate the annoyance and discomfort of contacts and glasses, so decided I would investigate Lasix. I heard the advertising campaigns on the radio and thought I would try it. brbrSuperb customer service. I felt very safe and well prepared. They fixed my vision with Lasix to PERFECT in less than 11 min. No pain! And I can even drive the next day!!! Fabulous staff and physicians. Highly recommend. brbrThere seems to be a rumor amongst the community that you have to wait a year after your first evaluation when getting Lasix, but thats not true. I went in for my first evaluation on a Monday and had my procedure that week. brbrHigh grade and up-to-date machines. Financing options allow 18 months no interest. Sweet deals! brbrI cant believe I didnt do this sooner. It is so wonderful to have done something nice for myself. Now, I can actually appreciate the high definition television on my HDTV, and I wont have to sit in the front row at Broadway shows or movie theaters.brbrThank you!!!

I had cataract surgery on my first eye 3 weeks ago and I can now sit here at the computer, reading the small print without any glasses. I can not wait to get my other eye taken care of next week. I have visited both the North Austin and Via Fortuna locations and have been very impressed with the staff at both. Mann appears to be a very happy place to work and the staff responds by giving the very best of care and service. Kristin at the front desk at the Via Fortuna location was especially impressive.A few years ago I took my mother to a different eye center and it was like an assembly line - not so at Mann. They treat their patients like valued guests and always seem to have enough time to answer questions. There is also a lot of support via text, e-mail and phone regarding appointments. Now about Dr Luke Barker.... well he is awesome! While I am not very religious I was still touched that he came in to say a little prayer before starting my surgery. He promised me he would do a good job and he did! The staff at the hospital were all very helpful, supportive and courteous too. All in all, something I had been dreading for years has so far turned out to be a great experience. A little pain and discomfort during the actual surgery, but it was quickly over with and I have had no problems with recovery.I am seeing better with just one good eye than I have seen in many years. Those cataracts kind of sneaked up on me and I did not realize how much I was missing.
