Have nothing but good things to say about everyone who helped or participated in my consult for LASIK today. Dr. Chin, Lili, Annabel and Ashley H. answered all my questions, even those I didn't know to ask. Looking forward to seeing them again for my LASIK surgery. Thanks for all your help.

I think I just got unlucky but I came in for a LASIK consultation and ended up getting a minor scratch. It happened during an exam to check my eye pressure. It was painful/itchy about 10 minutes after happening when I was checking out. I came back about 2 hours later and they offered a contact bandage. That experience definitely scared me and I dont think I will be getting LASIK now. However, Im sure this says nothing about the skills of the surgeons performing the LASIK procedures. I would just say do NOT move at all during the exam to check your eye pressures. It was painful while the tool was touching my eye (even with numbing drops) so I moved my head back. That may have caused the scratch but I just wish I had been warned that it was going to touch my eye and that even the slightest movement could actually affect my vision. Im not blaming anyone but had I known that beforehand, I would have been much more aware of what was going to happen during the exam and I would not have moved despite the pain.

I had Lasik Eye Surgery more than a month ago.TLDR: Long wait times(block at least 1 hr), stay away from Dr. Turk and make sure you schedule your surgery to be the very first one that day or at least not the last. Dr. Mann is great but I still need a 2nd surgery(most likely because of me not him). After surgery, be patient keep your eyes closed and take a sleeping pill or Nyquil or you will regret it.I have had friends who recently turned out great with Dr. Wright (I did not get to choose). I have friends who turned out great with Dr. Mann too but they had Lasik more than 10 yrs ago.Pre-op appointments: were great! Besides the long wait times (15 - 40 minutes to be seen for maximum of 25 minutes), technicians were amazing and Dr. Turk WAS very nice.Day of surgery: I was super nervous and on top of that I had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes before I was brought into an office to do exam and surgery that only took 15 minutes. While waiting I can see several patients that had just had the surgery being sent home(made me even more nervous). After waiting in the waiting room you go take one more eye exam and they give you the Valium. Then you go to another room where you are prepped and you can see someone else having surgery. Then you go into a glass room for the surgery. Dr. Mann and his staff are amazing and he made sure to keep me calm, great surgeon. Valium did not help with my nerves, ask and see if you can take a shot of tequila prior. There is a tv where your eyes are being shown during the surgery your partner can record. After surgery you can see right away but keep your eyes closed take a sleeping pill right away. When I got home one of my eyes started to burn like hell(pain was a 9 out of 10 being the worst). I felt like yanking it out. My husband called the office and they said that was normal. Then my husband gave me a NyQuil and I knocked out crying. Woke up 5 hrs later and felt much better.Vision history: I have really high astigmatism and had terrible vision prior to my surgery -5 in one and -3 in the other. Always wore glasses for past 12 yrs and wore contacts maybe 2-5 days a year for special occasions. I do suffer from dry eyes. One eye is now 20/20 and the other one is still not there (which was expected). I will need a second surgery but who knows when that will be.Every Post opp appointment has been a disappointment. Wait time is 20-30 minutes, to be seen only for 5-10 minutes. Dr. Turk lacks sympathy, is always in a rush and does not have any bedside manners. This location has literally 10-15 workers standing around talking among each other (staff probably hired to write all these great reviews) and only 1 person for each section working at all times. Every time I'm waiting to be seen by Dr. Turk, I can hear several people right outside the exam room door just talking and laughing.Staff is very friendly at all times but my only 2 complaints are the wait time and Dr. Turk. My perception is that I had the Lasik surgery, paid around 4k out of pocket (because insurance doesn't cover it but there's that 10% discount right) so now they are done with me.My vision is not 20/20 and I am always suffering from headaches which is fine because it will be fixed, but I am not being reassured that it will be and a little sympathy would help.
