I developed Wet Macular Degeneration in both eyes but the right eye erupted late summer 2021. Dr. Amir Mohsenin is a wonderful doctor! His years of research allow him to explain in detail, what is going on and how it can be alleviated. No cure yet but the improvement in my right eye is great step forward! Thanks so much to him and his staff.By the way, I have been going to the Mann Eye Clinic on Main for at least 2 decades and they are lovely, knowlegable folks. Dr. Brunson is a excellent doctor as well. I highly recommend them!

I normally visit the Deerbrook location (which I love). But this year, I decided to switch to the Main Office location because I live in central Houston. I was scheduled to see Dr. Chin today for an annual eye exam and new contacts & glasses prescription. When I arrived to the facility, I was assigned a doctor's assistant named Vanessa. In all fairness, all of the staff members were cordial. But I was in Vanessa's care for almost an hour (which was very confusing). I was alarmed to have received almost 80% of my eye exam care from the assistant and NOT the doctor. For one whole hour, the assistant proceeded to perform an eye exam, run tests (including eye dilation) and confirm my new prescription. I have NEVER had a doctor's assistant perform so much of an eye exam that is typically expected from the actual doctor. Throughout my visit, I communicated to the assistant (and later the doctor) my discomfort with the assistant performing so much of my assessment. When the doctor (Dr. Chin) finally came into my room (an hour after my scheduled appointment time), she was not going to fully examine me. She was going to rely on the results from the assistant's assessment of my eyes. I forced Dr. Chin to re-examine my eyes for new prescription accuracy. However, my frustration intensified when I couldn't confidently complete the doctor's exam since my eyes were already dilated. I have NEVER initially seen a doctor AFTER my eyes have been dilated. I am accustomed to having a doctor examine my eyes BEFORE dilation and also AFTER dilation. It appears as if the many assistants on the floor are given way too many doctor responsibilities, allowing the time for the doctor to spend with the patient to be very short. I was livid about my appointment today. I have already made a review about today's appointment on Yelp. I have been annually seeing an eye doctor for over 25 years. I have never been seen like I was seen today. And to know that I had to pay $275 for basically a doctor's assistant to see me is a complete joke. Also, Dr. Chin proceeded to tell me ON HER WAY OUT OF THE ROOM that I have early stages of cataracts. Now why she didn't proceed to tell me that information when she was sitting down in the room, confuses me. I was treated like a freaking number, not a real patient today. I have absolutely no intention on returning to the Main office location. And I intend to tell everyone about my visit on today.
