If you are like me, you are probably reading reviews to see any negatives to doing this procedure, at this location, with this doctor, or with this team. This isn't one of those. I was pretty nervous about getting Lasik. Let's face it, laser beams and eyeballs aren't exactly a wine and cheese pairing on every other day. The team at Mann Eye in Sugarland was phenomenal. Laurie was my first contact and did a great job explaining to me the procedure, experience of the doctor, and any (and all) of the other questions and concerns I had before being brought in for a consultation. When I came in, the consultation went smooth as butter. Did the standard vision testing and was introduced to my doctor, Dr Wright (a fellow Aggie, WHOOP!). I had an incredibly comfortable feeling with him. After Dr Wright came in Dr Tan gave a second opinion after looking at the tests and confirmed that I was a good candidate. Credit a lot of me following through with this procedure with Laurie's great energy and follow up. A few times I thought about not proceeding but she answered all questions truthfully and made me at home. I was shocked that I only had to have my contacts out for a week prior to the procedure. I had read plenty longer times with all of my 'expert googling'. The day of the procedure went amazingly well. Another follow up eye exam to confirm previous data, and then a follow up meeting with Dr Tan to make sure there weren't any other questions. Once the laser suite was ready, I was ushered in. Fear gripped me a bit at this point, but then as I laid down on the table, Mary handed me a nice stuffed animal to hold onto, haha. Surprisingly, it really did help. Laurie, Dr Tan, Dr Wright, and Mary were all wonderfully supportive as I freaked out. I can't begin to explain the thoughts racing through my head, but before I could finish them, the procedure was over. I couldn't believe it, like 13 seconds an eye or something. I could instantly see far off distances better, I was shocked. The only way to describe the feeling afterwards is sharpness but through a dirty windshield. I could make everything out, just a light haze. I went right across the street to the hotel and checked in, and passed out. I woke up about 4 hours later and couldn't believe how much my vision had improved during that time. My left eye, I couldn't even tell I had a procedure, my right eye still had a little bit of a 'eyelash stuck under the eyelid' sensation but I knew that was from drying out. As the evening progressed, it went away. My follow up appointment in the morning with Dr Tan put my better than 20/20 and on my way to 20/15 hopefully before my next follow up appointment. I write this post two days post procedure and it was one of my top 5 decisions of my life so far. Thank you again Mann Eye Sugarland!

I went here to get an eye exam and new prescription. I was rushed by the doctor and basically forced to agree to a prescription I wasnt sure was right. When I got the glasses and contacts I said they were blurry and I couldnt see. I was told my eyes would adjust and to give it time. I went back and was again told my eyes would adjust. Finally I have the money to get another exam and precision family eyecare and they immediately were shocked by how off my glasses were. The initial exam said my eyes were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than my prescription. I would not recommend going here. Awful experience. The eyecare center in Walmart is amazing and the staff is so friendly. If you want a better experience I suggest going there.

Everyone at Mann is so lovely and personable, it really made the whole experience great. I had Lasik with them and was really nervous pre op, so they let me hold their stuffed animal pig named Jenny during the procedure, which I absolutely loved!! The nervousness was the worst of it though, otherwise no pain whatsoever and only minor discomfort during and after the procedure. Aside from the light sensitivity I could already see everything nearly perfectly without glasses a few hours later... mind blowing. Had several weeks of eye drops which was easy to keep up with as long as my reminder alarms were set properly on my phone, and I've been in for a few standard post op appointments and everything is perfect! My eyesight is now better than 20/20 (20/15) and it is truly amazing to not have to think about glasses or contacts anymore. Should've done Lasik sooner! And with Mann the whole thing was easy and comfortable. Highly recommend.

From the front office staff to the doctors and technicians, everyone is so friendly and helpful. Dr. Barker is the best! He really cares about your eye care and always takes the time to explain everything and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
