I am soooo glad I went to Mann Eye Institute!! I was a little nervous before my lasik procedure but the entire staff including Dr. Mann made me feel at ease. At my initial consultation I felt like I was at the right place. The entire process was very professional and efficient. Now that I've had the procedure I couldn't be happier!!! I'm seeing 20/15 and it's only been 1 week! Thanks Mann Eye for changing my life!

In my years of utilizing Yelp to find the best spots in town, I don't think I've ever once written a review. Mann Eye Institute is beyond deserving of 5 stars. I was browsing Groupon one day for a deal on a massage when I came across Mann Eye's deal. I had a friend who'd just had LASIK done days before and it got me wishing for it again. But I grew up blue collar and I'll die blue collar; there's no way I'd ever be able to afford LASIK! Despite my financial shortcomings, I called up for a free consultation; that way, I'd at least know if my dream was possible, that I was eligible to get LASIK. I walked in to be greeted by theee friendliest front desk I've ever approached. They got me checked in and I waited just a few moments to meet with Kevin. He explained the procedure and risks and blahblahblah, and also mentioned that financing was an option. When I brought up the Groupon, he advised me not to waste the $100; they'd just give me the price the procedure would be with the deal (less than $4k for BOTH eyes!). Since LASIK has been a (nearly) lifelong dream, I had very few questions about the procedure and side effects. I was more concerned about if I could afford to do it. He told me financing was available through CareCredit, no interest for 2 years. *GROAN* I've applied for CareCredit more than a few times, and have always been denied. Despite my wonderful experience with the staff that day, I went home feeling a bit melancholy that I would not be able to have the procedure done. Lo and behold, the stars aligned and CareCredit actually approved me for the amount of the procedure!! I called immediately and scheduled an appointment for 3 or 4 weeks out (I had to stop wearing my contacts for at least 2 weeks before) and got super amped. Flash forward to my pre-op appointment 2 days before; Mirta took my measurements and was wonderful, engaging, and warm. There was a bit of a geek-out session when they discovered my corneas were exactly the same measurements (what can I say, I'm a symmetrical freak of nature!). Dr. Cessac came after and talked me through what to expect on LASIK day, and Kevin came in to provide a little more detail. I felt like I was being attended to by the entire staff. The entire awesome, friendly, knowledgable, humorous staff. LASIK day I expected myself to be a ball of anxiety. I'm not sure if it was the Valium or the staff talking me through each step, but I felt incredibly comfortable throughout the quick, painless procedure. I had been told previously to expect to be there for 1-2 hours, but I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. I was only able to sleep for 2 hours when I got home (they recommend at least 3), but I was too excited. I still must've slept through any post-op discomfort (itching, burning), because I felt absolutely normal when I woke up (minus the cyclops goggles). I was able to still go grocery shopping, catch up on some Breaking Bad, and grab a margarita at Chuy's (all in the cyclops goggles). I drove myself to my post-op the next morning, and again was in and out in less than 15 minutes. They even gave me a little gift (fittingly, a coffee mug that reads "I heart My LASIK A Latte" and my favorite flavor of Bebop Biscotti; HOW DID THEY KNOW?!). All in all, I don't think I could've had a better experience. I never felt like I was just another patient when I walked in, and still can't get over the fact that I CAN SEE. MY EYES WORK. IT'S FABULOUS. I love you, Mann Eye!

Its hard to believe that a week ago I was in glasses, getting a little nervous about my LASIK procedure...my eyes have adjusted well to perfect 20/20 vision and that is in large part because of the care and preparation by the Mann Eye Institute and Laser Center in Sugar Land. The first step is the free consultation you can set up online...they were so friendly and welcoming and the consultation is very similar to most eye exams. They then told me I was a great candidate and from there I met with Polly, the counselor. There was no pressure to sign up for an appointment for LASIK, they give you options, explain financing and answer all the questions you may have! From there they preparation for the procedure was made very easy because the entire staff make themselves available and Polly did a follow up call with me a week prior to my LASIK procedure to give me words of encouragement and review the steps that were in the folder they give you. The day of the LASIK procedure went by so quickly. Everyone makes you feel relaxed. And Dr. Wright is the best! He came highly recommended by a friend of mine who works for an ophthalmologist in the Houston area. He answers all your questions and calmly walks you through the process. The follow up appointment the following day, went smoothly also and they give you advice and calm you down when you think you'll live in the haze for the rest of your life (it goes away, I promise!). Their appointment system reminds you via email, text and phone call so there is no excuse for missing an appointment or having the opportunity to reschedule. They make it easy for people...which makes sense, your eyes are so important to your every day life and it is a little unnerving to trust strangers with your sight, but they are like a family and are very supportive of all patients who walk through their doors. I could not ask for a better LASIK experience. And everyone asks if I'd recommend it, and I say yes but only if you go to Mann Eye Institute in Sugar Land!

UPDATE --- Still five stars after 10 months!It has now been 10 months since Dr. Wright and Tina did my lasik. I could not be more pleased with the overall experience. I have been back for all my follow up visits and they are always ontime or very close. Dr. Wright is very pleasant and knowledgeable. He always takes time to answer any questions I have.My vision is great - 20/15. I have no dry eyes, no halos, every thing is wonderful.I also referred another friend to the Mann Eye institute and she also had a great experience and she has referred others.Thanks Dr. Wright and Tina for the first class experience and the great eyesight!!!!Original review ----It is twenty-two hours after having my LASIK procedure with Dr. Wright and Tina. I am amazed at how well I am seeing! I am seeing as well as I did with my glasses or contacts and this is only 22 hours after the surgery! A few times today I tried to take off the glasses - even tho I am not wearing any! Woo hooo!Everyone at the Mann Eye Institue out in Katy has been first rate! From my extensive initial assessment with two doctors (including Dr. Mann himself!) to my pre-op visit where they retested my eyes and demonstrated "blended vision" for me. Dr. Wright and Tina spent a lot of time helping me decide what degree of Blended Vision I wanted.The procedure was virtually painless and only took 13 min in the LASIK room.Thanks to everyone at Mann and especially Dr. Wright and Tina!

The friendly and professional staff and doctors of Mann Eye Center made my LASIK experience simply wonderful. From the consultation to the surgery, every step of the process seemed effortless for this team of experts. Dr. Mike Mann performed the procedure and I now know why he's considered to be one of the top eye surgeons in the country. The day after LASIK I was seeing 20/15! I'm very pleased with the results. Even though LASIK at Mann costs more than some other centers, I felt more confident in going with them over some of the other choices. After all, its your eyes, and you're worth it!
