If you are considering LASIK, go to Mann! I shopped around and the price was competitive with others I checked with, but included more post operative care. I was referred by someone else who had a wonderful experience there a year or so ago, so that speaks to the quality they provide further along than I've gotten. I had my surgery this afternoon and I'm ecstatic with the results already. Only 3 hours after the procedure I had little to no discomfort and can see as well as I could in my glasses. From my initial free consultation to now I had a wonderful experience! It's a beautiful and comfortable facility. Upon arrival sweet Kristin is an absolute joy! She's friendly, helpful, attentive, and keeps timely and fluid check in and really puts you at ease. She even went the extra mile to get me a sample of drops I wasn't able to get yet. Roland was very accommodating and scheduled my appointments and was very informative, likeable and considerate of my schedule making the process very convenient. I was able to come in right away without a hitch! Then I was attended to by the absolute nicest staff of assistants! Terrific patient care! So reassuring, extremely amicable and knowledgable. I believe their names were Mirta, Jara, and Alyssa and made all preparations fun! Their wonderful personalities left me at ease and even kept me laughing:) so sweet! I would say the same for dr. McIntyre. After the ten minute(!) procedure, I was able to call her for advice and immediately helped. Even after that she took it upon herself to personally check in with me at the end of the day to make sure I was ok! Usually going in for a post-op after surgery, as I'll be doing tomorrow, would feel like a chore but I'm genuinely happy to go back and see them! So if you are looking to free yourself from glasses, go to Mann! You'll be glad you did! Geez that was long:)

After years spent with dry eyes and having to take contacts in and out I decided I needed a change. After speaking with Jennifer Austin in the office she reassured me that it was the best choice for my situation. On the day of surgery all the office staff was amazing. Dr. Melton reassured me through the entire procedure and kept my mind off what was actually going on...walking me through each step. I left with no pain bc of great aftercare advice from the staff. I healed completely with the help of course, Dr. Baumohl with follow ups and have finally completed all my post surgery visits and have 20/15 vision in both eyes. I am so glad that this group of doctors and staff made me feel so comfortable and at ease that I never regretted one moment. Having your eyes worked on can be a scary scenario and I was a complete chicken but I would never change that decision and neither should you.

I had Lasik surgery 3 days ago at the Mann Eye Institute in Sugar Land. My surgeon was Brian Wright, with Joseph Janes as optometrist and Amy Peebles as surgical counsel. Jeremy Benson as clinic administrator was super helpful. I can't tell you how pleased I am with everything, and how smoothly the whole thing went. First I should mention that I first tried to have this done at the crappy "discount" Lasik Vision Institute and that was a very bad idea. Comparing the 2 places is like night and day, and I am so happy that I ended up with the Mann Eye institute. They were slightly more expensive but worth every penny.I did a lot more research after my first mistake, watched tons of scary videos and read all the horror stories and I was still extremely nervous about having this procedure done at all. However with my high nearsighted prescription and lifelong bad vision (-10), I really wanted to fix my vision for good. But it seemed so risky because my job is completely dependent on having good vision, since I am a visual designer. I didn't want to take any chances.Dr. Janes gave me contacts to show exactly what the monovision prescription would look like so I was able to try it out for a day just to make sure it was right.I didn't experience any significant wait time at any of my 4 appointments so far. I don't think I ever waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. That is really the least of my concerns, but a MAJOR difference from the Lasik Vision where I had to wait hours and hours for anything to happen. The procedure itself was better than expected, the surgeon was extremely helpful and told me everything I needed to know to make it successful. After 3 days I am already seeing incredibly well and expect my near vision to improve within a month. My far vision is already amazingly clear. I didn't have any pain and had very little discomfort even the day it was done. I followed everything to the letter on the after care and there have been no issues. I have little to no "halo" effect and driving at night is not a problem at all.I would like to thank Amy Peebles the most, because she helped me get through the surgery without chickening out or messing anything up. She actually held my hand the whole time probably at some discomfort to herself.Everyone on the staff was great. I am sending the rest of my nearsighted/astigmatic family to this office for their regular exams for contacts and glasses - possibly surgery when they are ready for it. I have ZERO complaints for the sugar land office, and loads of praise for them all.
