Having worn glasses and contacts most of my life I finally made the choice to go for Lasik surgery. Who to trust my eyes with was a difficult one. You see Lasik for cheap. You have do some research and talk to others that have gone through it. Considerations are what type of equipment is being used and the qualifications of the doctors. I went with Mann Eye Institute and I am a very happy I did! When I scheduled my complimentary consultation on the phone Victor was more than informed on the procedures and answered all my questions. When I arrived for the first time I was met by David and he greeted me by name even though I had never been there. Kevin the counselor sat down with me and explained the screening process, what to expect during the surgery and financial options. What I really appreciated is the fact they are honest if you are not a candidate for the surgery and what your other options may be. In addition, no long wait time in the lobby. You are seen at your appointment time with great efficiency. My surgery was a little more complicated then most and both eyes could not be done in the same day as planned. I was disappointed but was rescheduled to come back the following week to finish up. They promised it would be done and they delivered! Apparently I have a small left eye that posed a challenge. Dr Mike Mann did not give up and his support staff was wonderful. At one point someone came in to hold my hand and boy did I squeeze (not from pain but anxiety)! After several attempts Dr Mann was able to create the flap and then on to the laser. My right eye was easier and it took less than 5 minutes. I can't even describe the elation of seeing out of both eyes now with no assistance. Dr Cessac is also a pleasure to have as the pre and follow up doctor. She's a little bundle of energy and so positive! Thank you to the Mann doctors and their wonderful staff! I would recommend them to anyone considering Lasik.

I've got to give it to my Mom...this was one hell of a graduation gift. After having a really awful high school graduation experience with a family emergency, I never got to experience the freedom or joys of being out of school. Once everything calmed down, my mother decided to treat me to an eye surgery that i desperately needed. I had awful vision to say the least. I worn glasses and contacts all my life but got sick of changing them everyday and it never fixed the problem. Even with corrective lenses, I still got severe headaches and maintained difficulty seeing from afar. So one day in Febraury of 2006, me and the madre decided to head on up for a free exam at the Mann Eye Center just to see what could be done. After being told for the past 3 years that my eyes weren't strong enough for Lasik, I didn't really get my hopes up. After about an hour, Dr. Mike Mann came in and told me that they could perform a procedure on my eyes and give me close to perfect vision. I was amazed yet of course very skeptical, however my mom knew how much it meant to me so she went ahead and wrote out the check. The procedure was amazing! Using clamps, the opened my eyes and did the procedure. I saw the whole thing--strangely amazing. Now I know what its like to be on paralytics during surgery. Sweet! Of course they gave me valium to relax me. It was completely painless! In 24 hours, I had perfect vision. Even better than they originally planned for me. I had to use Rx Eye Drops for the next 30 days to let my retina and iris heal completely, but the whole thing was amazing. I highly recommend getting the treatment if you have bad vision. $4000.00 is a small investment for something so important like your eyes. I couldn't be more thankful to my mom after that.

Really great experience - very impressed! I researched online and it looks like the Mann Eye Institute uses the best laser available in the US. Their pricing is extremely comparable to all the other clinics I researched in the Austin area, and they have very good pricing options, too! You can get a one year no interest payment plan. Their package is also one of the best in the industry, including 2 year enhancements if needed, and all post-ops up to 6 months. I just had my surgery done 5 days ago and I was extremely impressed with the level of service I received from everyone from their satellite clinic to Dr. Mike Mann himself. He was very precise, exacting and extremely amiable. I felt very comforable and at ease during my day of surgery and you get a feel that everyone wants to make sure you have the best experience, ever. I have one friend who's also had her LASIK done with Dr. Mann 2 years ago and she still says it's the best thing she's ever done. My eyes are still healing but already I can tell the difference. It's fantastic. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else and I will recommend the Mann Eye Institute to anyone that needs LASIK surgery done!
