Honestly, I think the place is nice but there are huge efficiency gaps in the customer experience. I honestly wish I just had a way to give this feedback to the business owners so they could bring in consultants to fix the following and it would be great.1) somehow a simple eye exam takes 2 hours. I dont understand why this process is so inefficient. There are lots of staff everywhere but check-in is slow. When you get called back, you are shuttled between exam rooms. Then you have to wait again to see the eye doctor and it takes a while - which is surprising that this is not more efficient.2) checkout takes a while and its confounding. To their credit, they do have a sign at the front about Klara to help speed checkout but its slower than it should be.3) it feel like private equity owns it. I dont know if this is true, but it just feels like a place they are working to make it be a cash printing machine. Frames and lenses are expensive and they shuttle you in there to buy them - but they dont pressure you. I appreciated that aspect. Those are the frustrating elements but I would be remiss if I didnt also say what they did well. The doctor was sharp and had good feedback. I didnt feel rushed or like things that were important werent explained. For a one-stop shop, they cover it all. They do try to do warm handoffs between experiences. Their staff are all kind and well-trained. The space was nicely maintained which is hard to do with so much volume.I also think a lot of the customer experience could be fixed if they just moved to an app-based check-in with a QR code to sign forms.I also wish they would go more of the Warby Parker direction on frames and lenses as the frames in the store (like most stores) are ridiculously expensive. Maybe this is where they make their margin but man I wish they would do this differently.
