Have gone to Dr Allen for years, and find he is clearly top notch in his knowledge, services and interactions with me as a patient. Could not recommend anyone more highly. Dan

To business manager Mia R: It is very unfortunate that I have to write a review on yelp so that hopefully someone will actually listen to their patient (or in my case, could have been patient).

I called in hoping to get an appointment with a ophthalmologist after waiting OVER A MONTH for you guys to call me back for an appointment. It all started in early October when my pcp sent in a referral so that I can get my eyes examined due to on and off blurry vision after my twin pregnancy (blurry vision for 7 months now, which does affect me on doing daily tasks). When I first called in October, a male staff said to me there was no referral and told me to call back in a few weeks to double check. So I immediately called back my pcp to check. Turns out referral was still processing and should be authorized in November. After patiently waiting for a little over month, I called back Pacific Eye Associates like the first male staff told me to but this time a different male staff told me they still have no referral and that someone was supposed to create an account for me so that a staff will call me when they receive an referral. Additionally, he told me to call my pcp to fax in a referral so that he can help me make the appointment once they receive it (at least this guy was trying to help me as much as he can). Following the instructions I was given, I called my pcp and they faxed the referral to Pacific Eye Associates right away and told me it will be sent to Pacific Eye Associates in about 10 minutes. I waited over an hour just to be sure and called back Pacific Eye Associates to see if they have received my referral. A female staff with heavy accent answered and told me that my referral needs to be authorized and that they will call me. I tried to explain to her that the referral has been authorized and directly faxed from my pcp but she refused to listen and rudely told me "Let me repeat myself again! Your referral needs to be authorized!" and that was the end of our conversation.

It is really upsetting to me that I was treated rudely and she was so unwilling to just check the fax machine for my referral. In fact, she did not even bother to ask for my name and information like the other two male staffs did to help look up my situation. It was like dealing with a grumpy DMV staff.

To the lady that answered my phone call rudely on 11/25/19 at 1:10pm: First of all, I did NOTHING to offend you. Secondly, you work in medical field dealing with patients that may or may not have serious health conditions that need to be addressed by a doctor so please learn to have patience and a kind heart. If you cannot do that and continue to have that kind of bad attitude then you should really consider having a career in a different field, perhaps go work for DMV. Also, if I was really interrupting your lunch break at 1:10pm(if that was the case but I wouldn't know) just say you guys are on lunch and will call back after, no need for the rushy rude attitude. Patients are humans too and we will understand that you need to eat or something.

After this long unpleasant experience with them, I will move on and go to another ophthalmology office that has professional manners, even if I have to pay out of pocket at least it's money well spent to be treated properly with respect. I regret wasting a whole month's time waiting to be seen and it never happened. I should have went on yelp first to check them out. Apparently I am not the only one with bad experience.

To business manager Mia R. Or whoever is reading: please do talk to your staffs and correct these behaviors (like you said you would to the other yelp reviews here). I understand that you guys are a business and that making money matters. However, at the end of the day, you guys are still providing medical services to patients in need. Don't let these staffs ruin your name and the doctors reputations. Doctors work really hard on getting their medical degrees to help people. Keep this up and eventually words will spread and people and doctors will go somewhere else.

Thank you for "listening" and good luck to your management team.
