My experience at this Pacific Eye Associate for a routine eye exam was horrified. No one at the front desk communicate to me about my MD's current schedule running behind at least 45minutes during the check-in on the day of my appointment. No one give me a definite answer how long I should be waiting for my turn until I specifically told them to go ask the MD to see the duration of the my waiting time. It took me 90 minutes before I actually was seen by my MD. They expect patient to wait according to MD's schedule running behind however, patient gets penalized being late for his or her appointment . Please don't set an office policy to tell patient to show up 10 minutes prior to his or her appointment as a reminder via phone if patient is not seen on time for his or her appointment. This is unacceptable for this office to treat their patients daily providing such poor customer service and adding stresses to patient's life. This creates a stressful environment adding to unnecessary patient's health issues. This office needs to revamp how to treat their patients with not only good customer service but also better time management with each of their patient to provide appropriate care.

I came in for an emergency procedure, refereed to her office from my primary care doctor. She had zero bedside manner and kept me overlong, without explanation (simply left to room and did not return) for 20 minutes because she was "looking for some students" to show my eye. Hey, I want to further medical research, but at least tell me what you're doing before you make me wait. Also, she provided me no information that turned out to be accurate. Now, this wasn't fully her fault, the damage was worse than expected, but she did not inform or prepare me for any of the worst case scenarios, one of which came to fruition. She might be a great doctor, but she's a horrible healer.

When I came last month to have my eyes checked, they decided I needed three back to back appointments a month later, scheduled at 320, 340 and 350. An hour later, I've only had one (I'm sitting in the waiting room still). When I got called to the second one, they wanted to do the exact same generic procedures they did one month ago and the attendant clearly did not know any reason why I was here. Then since I had an hour and a half of idle time (I did get into appointment two), I tried to check out but they refused to let me. I would never recommend this place and this is the last time I will be here.

My optometrist, Cindy Szeto OD, referred me to Pacific Eye Associates when my cataract had grown to the size that it needed attention by a medical doctor. I was first seen by Dr. Karen Oxford, who thought I might also have glaucoma, so she referred me to Dr. Scott So for further evaluation. Sure enough, I had low tension glaucoma as well. This is an unusual kind of glaucoma that occurs even when the eye pressure (checked by optometrists) is normal, as mine had been for years. Fortunately for me, a new medical device (iStent) had been approved in February 2013 to treat this condition, and even more fortunately for me, Dr. So was involved in all the pre-approval clinical-trials and already had lots of experience with it. So, off I went for two surgeries in January 2014 and now I'm good as new. Along the way, I was so impressed with Pacific Eye, which is owned by a group of board-certified ophthamologists. It shows -- every doctor is an expert in his/her field, and the staff is efficient, smart, and very very nice. The front desk staff was helpful and cordial. The doctor's staff that I worked with the most -- Esmeralda, Dana and Steven -- became trusted friends in just a few visits. I always felt valued when I was at Pacific Eye. Believe me, you owe it to your eyesight to have your annual eye exam done here (they may find something that needs treatment that you don't know about), and certainly if there is a problem with your eyes, you must avail yourself of the expertise of this group. I will be eternally grateful to all of them for their care and concern. And their patient for life.

This rating review is only for the reception people. I called couple times to book an appointment. Finally my call was picked up BUT OMG! the lady was rude and impatient. There is zero quality of customer services. I'm concerned about how the office visit would be like....
