I went here in Sep of '08, so it's been a while since i've been, but i plan on visiting Portland again in Oct, and while im there, im definitely going back to DeMillos. It's literally floating on the water, the place used to be a ferry boat i believe. It has the nautical atmosphere which is nice. Anywho, my friend and i both got the huge lobster plate where they put a bib on you. SO much food! and SO good! Part of the reason I love Portland is because the seafood is so fresh. Im a fan if this place, im definitely going again.

Had a great dinner here while visiting Portland. Yes, it is full of tourists, and yes, many of them are senior citizens, but what do you expect for a waterfront restaurant that's been around since the 1960's? It's an institution in Portland, as far as I'm concerned :)
The dining room is spacious, nautical, and elegant, made me nostalgic for the kinds of places my parents liked to take us on family vacations. We chose to eat inside, because although it was a nice night, the plastic tables and chairs on the deck just didn't provide the same level of ambiance.
The bar is huge and crowded with people waiting for their tables, or enjoying a plate of clams on the half shell.
I had the lobster, of course, and it was delicious. This being the first time I had to dis-assemble the beast myself, a kind waiter came by and gave me a hand, much appreciated.
They also serve a wine that is blended to pair perfectly with lobster, which I thought was a nice touch and quite enjoyed.
My boyfriend is a vegetarian, and unlike some of the other lobster places we called, they did put together a pasta primavera for him. It included whole baby carrots, which was odd, but other than that, it was fine.
The chocolate cake for dessert is delicious and I thought the prices were fine for such a great vacation experience.

DiMillo's is a bit pricey and touristy, but it's on the water in the Old Port section of Portland and the seafood is good and plentiful. I enjoyed the shrimp bisque and Maine lobster, while my boyfriend enjoyed a combination seafood platter. You can park in one of the public lots and they'll validate your parking if you dine there.

Aside from the mai tai tasting like a glass of Hawaiian Punch, this place is pretty good. The upstairs deck is a great place to grab a sunset drink and my girlfriend and I enjoyed the open air and steamed mussles. I bet this place gets insanely busy on a summer weekend, but we were there on a Thursday night and got a spot in no time. Nice time.

We went to New Hampshire on a road trip with a couple of friends..and one night our crazy friends decided to drive to Maine to eat some lobster!

One of our friends has been here before so we chose it. It had the special "two lobsters for $24" and I have to say it was really good value..Lobster tastes good too, though nothing special..standard ways of cooking.

Will go back if next time we go to Maine..(Not New Hampshire..it was good, but not worth 4~5 hours of driving round trip...)
