I was worried about this being overpriced tourist fare, but although it isn't cheap, it is really tasty. Especially the seafood sampler plate and the broccoli. Best meal and service we've had since we arrived into Boston Wednesday.

The four of us had a great meal. The waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable concerning our choices. Both the appetizers and the entrees were delicious. Two of us got the 1 1/8 lb. lobster, and one of us got the 1 1/2 lb. Personally, I think the smaller one is more than sufficient as a meal. We will definitely return, if we are ever in Portland, Maine again.

The airline agent in Pittsburgh PA recommended this place before we even started our trip to Portland (that should tell you something right there!). It's a floating restaurant so that's a cool aspect that brings a lot of tourists, but the food definitely stood up to the expectations. We were there early enough for their early bird special, which is a great deal (3 courses for $20). I did make us a reservation, but probably made it at 11-11:30a for a 5p reservation with no problem. They have a ton of different options that you expect to see at a Maine coastland restaurant, but also choices for those who may not love seafood like I do. The service was attentive and friendly and everything was clean. Thank you for a great meal!

Good luck trying to figure out where to sit if you are not a local. The person at the front desk said the heated deck was open and a hostess was there to seat us. However, no one was waiting so we walked outside, a hostess came out and said it was closed and didn't offer us any other seating arrangements, she just looked at us like we were stupid. We left promptly.
