I had a nice time at DiMillo's. It's a restaurant that's certainly touristy but regardless they deserve props as one of the first landmark restaurant investments on the Portland waterfront many years ago. It's a large place that can easily accomodate a large family or group. You usually have to wait, so try not to arrive after seven or you'll be eating after 8. The restaurant is huge and seems a little short-staffed on servers; it seems like they have more hostesses than servers. Regardless, our waiter was very cool, and yes, service was slow, but our dinner was good. Eat inside unless it's really warm out; outside diners were coming inside when the wind picked up. Nice wine list by the glass. Good menu, mostly seafood with additional Italian dishes. Prices aren't as expensive I was expecting. It's an enjoyable evening out, between a 3-4 star overall experience for me.

Overpriced, stuffy and the food was of poor quality.
We had fried clams, looked liked an appetizer portion, $19.00. The old Howard Johnson famous fried clams were tastier!
An order of broiled scallops also looking like an appetizer portion, $19.00, actually if I recall there were about 8 small scallops. Skip it, there are a lot more restaurants to choose from!
The view from the terrace is nice, it's worth one star!
They validate your parking!
Great disappointment!

I enjoyed a fabulous lunch here.

Pricey for sure, but worth it. Also, it's on a boat, which is way more exciting than land, duh.

Alex (I think) was our server and he was fantastic. Very attentive, made great suggestions, and really personable.

There can be quite a wait during peak hours so try and go at an off time or make reservations. There's outdoor and indoor seating, with plenty of opportunities to have a water view.

I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and it was incredible. I'm wishing I had some now! Complete with fried lobster crumbles, this was so flavorful, creamy, and crunchy all at once. It's a pretty big dish, so be hungry.

The other two members of my party got the lobster special and the Cesar salad with chicken (not a seafood fan--lame). The special was basically a lobster grilled cheese which also looked amazing. The salad was ginormous--definitely worth the price.

Fun fact: this place was the first restaurant on the harbor, and caused all the others to open
