The idea of eating out on a docked ship in Portland was kitschy and so my husband and I went for it. I was afraid we didn't look fancy enough, but it worked out okay because we saw families some dressed up and some down. Definitely felt like it was a tourist spot, especially when you walk past the gift shop, to get to the main entrance. Luckily we didn't really have to wait to long and we were seated on the second floor. Our waitress was really nice. My husband was excited that he could have the Lazy Lobster option where all the work is taken out and he can just dunk the sucker in some butter. I think I was a little lobstered out at that point so I had some other seafood. The food was just okay, but definitely more on the pricey end of our meals. Setting was not bad, definitely a touristy thing to try. Maybe trying lunch instead of dinner would have been the way to go.

Visited here after a trade show. I always am weary of the tourist trap type locations, but I have to say that this dinner was absolutely perfect! There were 4 of us in the party. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp cocktail. These were possibly the best shrimp I have ever had for cocktail, and boy have I had a lot! Our entrees were the lazy lobster. Usually I shy away from this because the portions are skimpy, but this was fantastic! I highly recommend this location whether you are a visitor or a local.

Started poorly with a seating issue. When I made the reservation, I asked for a table near a window. We were a large party of 7 with a guest from NY and I wanted him to have a great view. We were seated at a table which was the furthest possible from a window. The hostess said she couldn't do anything about it. Manager never came over even though I asked her to tell him about their mistake. An hour later we were told that Danny DiMillo was working tonight and he felt bad so he sent over two free appetizers. Not acceptable Mr. DiMillo. You should have come to the table.

Food is average which is what we expect when we come here. Your standard scallop, shrimp and lobster dishes with not much creativity. We had kids with us so this is what we expect and what we got. If you want a run of the mill touristy place that is kid friendly then go here. It's not much more than that.

Customer service unacceptable! Therefore 2 stars.

Dimillo's is a landmark in Old Portland. The city has a of lot unique shops and restaurants, but this floating restaurant is iconic. My wife and I were referred here by our hotel concierge who was up front about it being a tourist spot, but we still decided to go.

My wife had the 1.5lb steamed lobster with a baked potato and I had the lazy lobster with mashed potatoes. The lobsters were good and we both enjoyed our meals, but for $30 each you think they could throw in a garden salad.

I'm still happy we went, the meal was good and the views from the flooring restaurant are funtastic!
