Unfortunately this place is a total tourist trap and I fell for it.I had no idea this was on a boat but any excitement I had for that concept went out the window when I realized the boat just sits there, doesn't really rock back or forth, and was so dark inside that I could barely make out other tables. This place just looks really dated inside. Now that we know that, let's talk about the food: I went here for the filet mignon because I'm not a huge seafood person. I asked for it medium and instead the steak was cooked at three different temperatures: medium rare in the very middle, medium outside of that, and well done on the outer ends. Not enjoyable. Our apps of crab cakes and scallops were fine; I didn't find the crab cakes to be anything out of the ordinary for Portland so that was disappointing. All in all, I wouldn't return here nor would I recommend this to anyone.

My wife and I were in Portland celebrating our 31st anniversary and two people recommended Dimillo's. I wish we would have talked to two more people because the food wasn't that good. The lobster roll was basic, as the lobster meat was over cooked and under seasoned. The roll was not soft at all. The mussels were fresh, but the broth had very little salt and was very thin. To sum it up, our meal was disappointing, especially since we flew all the way from Georgia just to try a Maine Lobster Roll.

I ate here. The food is bad to very mediocre. It's very over priced. So many of the reviews on here are contrived. Done by the people that work there or hired professionals. It's so obvious.

This is my first restaurant review in nothing less than 6 yearsThis is my first time of coming here. We live between Miami and Eliot ME and I'd say I've had better seafood in Miami than here. I absolutely detest the crab cake. It's without a doubt the worst I've had EVER! Aioli sauce can not compensate for bland crap cake. I had higher hopes because it came with actual crab cake chunks. The bacon wrapped scallops is only a bit better than the crap cake.I guess they must have horrible chef.My husband had pecan crusted haddock and that was decent. My daughter had french fries and chicken tenders; she like the french fries but chicken tender look like a big rocky excavation project.DrinksI ordered port side - NEVER AGAINViews- amazingAmbiance - spectacular Total eating - 2.0 stars. I'll come back here and sit at bar for a glass of Sauvignon blanc. Never for food!!

Let me start by saying I have been going to Dimillos since I was a little girl. I still remember Tony DiMillo making his rounds at all the tables to check on the satisfaction of his customers. As an adult I have continue to attend Dimillos for lunch or dinner on several occasions and a few Christmas Eve's. Because of the lobster there it is my sons favorite restaurant. This year we tried again, on Christmas Eve, to get in for lunch as a family to celebrate the holidays. I called several weeks ahead of time and was told I could not make a reservation, it was first come first served. So I went to the restaurant about 45 minutes before the rest of my family would be arriving so I could put our name in but then was told there was no way they were going to be able to seat a party of seven unless they separated us, and not necessarily close together. As the young man at the booth is telling me this information, a large party comes in behind me letting him know they have a reservation. What? I thought you were not taking reservations. I asked the young man about this and he was quite rude in his response and I was clearly going to get nowhere. So I sat in the parking lot trying to find a restaurant that could take all seven of us so we could enjoy a nice lunch together. I went to leave the parking lot and was charged $8 because I didn't leave the parking lot within 15 minutes. Needless to say, they could not accommodate us and then I was charged for sitting in the parking lot scrounging for another restaurant to eat at. I left there very upset with no intention of going back.On another note, the Old Port Sea Grill across the street was very accommodating and pleasant with great food. They were more than willing to go out of their way to accommodate us.
