Terrible service and mediocre food in a drab setting. The restaurant was not crowded and our waitress was nowhere to be found throughout the meal.

At the suggestion of our hotel, we ventured into this place for dinner. Not so special of a place, honestly. A lot of hype since it's a floating boat on water. The ambience is yea, the inside of a boat. But the dcor is so dated. Ancient overhead lighting that screams for updates, very dim. We didn't even have a candle or anything at our table to assist in reading the menu. The food was OK .. although the one thing that was horrific was the "Fried" Calamari - which our server said "was to die for". Well, honestly, it is a soggy mess due to the vegetable salsa-like mix that they pour over the entire calamari (presumably so they can use a LOT less Calamari for the plate)... so gone is any semblance of "fried" or crispy. And at $10? Pass. When brought to the attention of the server, she "mentioned" it to the kitchen. Sorry, that's how they do it ... no credit on the bill. (Another reviewer said "best" they ever had. Have you ever had REAL Fried Calamari? with an Aoili dipping?) honestly.

The 1/5 lb Lobster (steamed) was OK, although really not much meat . But I guess that's what you pay for Lobster these days in areas like that. Broiled Scallops @ $23 .. wow ..

So seriously, a very expensive place for what you get. Suggest you look elsewhere.

Tried their Clam Bake special. It was overcooked and over salted. My wife had their Lazy Man's Lobster and she stated that the lobster roll she had earlier that day from a stand at the Portland Headlands Lighthouse had more lobster in it and tasted better. We both had their blueberry cobbler ala mode. The ice cream was good but it really wasn't a "cobbler".

All in all a disappointing and underwhelming experience from the food standpoint. The ambiance and service were acceptable, however.. I would be surprised if any of the "locals" go there to eat.

We were walking around looking for a place to have lunch at 2pm that is still open and we came across this place so we decided to give a shot. When we walked in, the place looks and dark. We asked if they have a table and the hostess asked if we mind sitting at the bar area as the main dining has a wait, so we said no. She immediately took us to our table. We had asked for a high chair as we have our one year old with us but she didn't bother getting it for us. I immediately saw a few high chairs at the corner of the room and I asked my husband to grab one. The hostess didn't even bother to give us menus so we were just sitting there waiting. We waited for at least 5 mins before our waitress showed up. When she showed, she was actually friendly and did a pretty good. I ordered the pappardelle with shrimp and scallops. The pasta came from a box. The shrimp and scallops was great. They were fresh and cook perfectly. The portion was pretty generous. Overall, the dish was just OK. My husband ordered the haddock and the green beans came from a can and the fish was really oily. Overall our meal was just Ok. I gave this place a 2 star because lack of service from the hostess.

This place may have had its time say some 30 years ago but today it's a dinosaur. The food was ok I got the haddock the green beans on the plate were from a can. My wife got the pasta and shrimp the pasta was from a boxed the shrimp saved the dish they were large and fresh. Everyone in the place look as though they had retired 20 years earlier not that this is a problem but it did make us feel a little out of place. I'd avoid.
