It was a Monday night, my husband and I had a delicious meal, decided to go to the bar after dinner for an after dinner drink. The outside porch which is used for dining was pretty empty. My husband and I decided that we would go outside on the porch to have a drink but were rudely and I mean rudely interrupted that would we would not be able to go out on the porch have a drink unless we were going to order more drinks. Really?? By the way they guarded the doors like Bulldogs so you couldn't go outside!

Off season it looks like no one cares to cook good food! They sure have no problem taking your money. Please go somewhere else. They have resorted to specials for time of day making you feel you get soup to desert for one price. They may as well have a buffet of something the feeling of a fun time on a boat with good food is gone. PLEASE TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE THEY GET PLENTY OF MONEY FROM TOURIST WHO DONT KNOW ANY BETTER.

DiMillo's was a beautiful restaurant and there is nothing inherently "bad" with the food, but at the same time, it wasn't anything special. We ordered the calamari and I can definitely say that we've had better at Legal Seafoods. The stuffed lobster was okay, I wouldn't recommend adding on the extra $13 for stuffing a lobster w/ more lobster. The clam chowder felt very generic, maybe even from a can?

Overall, I feel that this was a tourist trap. I would rather go next door to Portland Lobster Company for food over DiMillos.

I just had a late lunch/early dinner here today with my Aunt and cousin who were only here for the day. I don't even know where to begin. Other than the location and visiting with my family, it was mediocre at best. When we sat at our table our server came over to tell us she was going to be our server today, however she couldn't get to us until she caught up on all her other tables. Seriously, that is what she said. She finally came back about 15 minutes later. We decided to give her our entire order right then as we could kind of tell how this pace was going to go. So she says she will be right back with our drinks and a basket of bread. I had an iced tea and my cousin a glass of wine. So we wait....and wait. My cousin even remarks that I think she forgot to bring our drinks. Meanwhile my Aunt is pulling hard candies from her purse to stave off her hunger. Finally we see her in the distance with our two drinks and basket of bread. The bread was very good. Thank goodness because we ate the entire loaf while waiting another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. This was not really to bothersome as we were busy catching up on old times and laughing etc. Our server did make another appearance to tell us "You ladies need to keep it down" I honestly don't know if she was serious or it was an attempt at humor. Since I was on the very powerful unsweetened ice tea, I guess I could have been laughing too loud but at this point it was still at our conversation and not at the very cold, dry $30 Steak Oscar I was served with 4 small stalks of asparagus on top, no sign of bearnaise sauce and it was LUKEWARM AT BEST...like it sat NEAR the heatlamp but not actually under it, lol. My Aunt had a $29 Filet Mignon that came with about 10 itsy bitsy brussel sprouts and my cousin had the Surf and Turf for $37. By this time, I have finished drinking the melted ice in my tea glass and my cousin switched to water since her wine glass sat empty:( Our server did ask if there was anything else she could get us when she delivered the food so we suggested refills on our drinks. We made it through our meals, though all the brussell sprouts remained on the plate. The one bright spot was the apple pie cheesecake which literally could have fed all three of us. I had that with a cup of coffee and my cousin finished her day with a dish of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. That was the only type of sauce they offered. The thing I didn't understand was this, we arrived at 1:45pm and had no problem parking, there were empty tables throughout the restaurant and they seemed to be very well staffed yet I guess everyone was sat in our server's section. She was never rude but did seem like she could never get caught up and she did try to make a joke about cheesecake leading me to believe maybe she was joking when she asked us to quiet down?? I am still not sure. What I am sure of is this, I will never go back as there are just too many other wonderful places in Portland to drop $160 that have just as good a view.
