At 2:45 p.m. on Friday 8/23, I called to make reservations for 6 of us. I was told that they were no longer making reservations for the day. (I forgot to call a few days prior). We arrived at 4:45 and were seated right away, there was plenty of seating available. Our server was very nice & helpful. To me, the prices were too high. The Onion soup was delicious and I do recommend. I do not at all recommend the chicken marsala...I know, I know, it's a seafood restaurant but I don't eat seafood. But the marsala was nothing like a true chicken marsala. There were no mushrooms and the sauce was very thick as was the chicken. It was on a bed of polenta, which was okay. The chowder is thick and according to my husband was good. The best item was the lobster mac n cheese...though my son got it w/out the lobster...so we can't speak to what it tastes like w/the lobster, but without it, it was very good....large bowl, but still $20 for mac n cheese ($30 if you got the lobster.) The broiled scallops I'm told were just okay and the lazy lobster dish was small and not filling. We have been here in the past for the experience, but probably wouldn't go back.

Top flight staff and amazing views to boot. The baked stuffed lobster was to die for and I'll be talking about it for years to come. If you're in Portland and want a top quality meal without the fake pretensions of other places DiMillo's is your place. As I left I also noticed decades of DiMillo's recognizing their employee of the month on plaques with individual names listed going back to the 80's! That alone told me everything I need to know about this establishment. A restaurant that continuously recognizes and elevates their employees publicly is a restaurant I will always frequent.
