We stopped at this place because it was not only close to the water but on the water. We had had a late breakfast so we did not stop in for lunch until later afternoon. The atmosphere was traditional, meaning what you would expect for a floating-restaurant-vessel, and the blue hairs were abound (but this was only because of the time of day I am guessing...the fun part was being the youngsters in the crowd!).

I ordered a cold draft beer and my wife had a hot tea (it was about 22F that day so we each warmed up the way we like warm up). We had a calamari and potato cakes for appetizers which were really good. My wife had a cup of chowder (which I thought was too thick but she liked it), a salad, and shrimp for her entree. I had bay scallops which were broiled to perfection and fresh green beans. The scallops were excellent but the green beans were just okay at best (no body makes green beans like my wife so I am spoiled).

We both recommend this place. The 'on the water' view was great and the place has character (linen table settings and dark woods). You will find the food tasty and plenty of nice beers to choose from. And the service is great even though they know you are a tourist.

Great first time Maine experience for the whole family! Service was excellent (Jason). Eat here if you can. We had a sampling of the main entrees. Everything was awesome. Lobster, fried clams, scallops, etc.

A very nice place to go to catch the charm of the great Northeast...and the Maine lobster! We had a group of six from the Midwest. We stop here every year and have never been disappointed. The main appeal is the lobster special. It is two whole Maine lobsters with potato and bread. The staff is very helpful with customers who are unfamilar with cleaning a lobster for eating. All lobster was delicious - we enjoyed it so! The local beers also had high votes! We will return again next year!

This place is a definate tourist restaurant. People from Maine will say....stay away. But I can tell you that this experience I had this week was great. I was up there in the middle of a snow storm and went there to try out a talked about lobster special.

I walked in, the first thing the bartender says is with the snow storm today, everything on the menu is 50% off! Yes, and it's something they do everytime they have a snow storm to drive business and get people in. Make note!

I got 2 Maine lobsters...lazy man style for $19...a ton of steamers for $4. Food was great, definately worth the tourist aspect.
