Good that it is near the medical center where I have attended appointments for almost 20 years. However, I got lost and confused trying to make my first appointment. I have poor vision and circled several times looking for a street level sign that would tell me where to pull in to park for Mann Eye Care. Inside the garage I found the signage poor for a person with macular degeneration.

The staff and doctor were nice and efficient, but the follow-up notes were not good. They were hand-written, with very few details and they forgot to add one of the doctor's recommendations. I had to ask the front desk person about it and it took her 3 trips to back to the doc/nurse to confirm what was missing and the directions. They need to formalize their follow-up recommendations; their method was rather sloppy.

I always had great treatment from Brian Wright for many years. With the new facility at River Park Dr. in Sugar Land, my ongoing treatment is managed by Tina Burr who carries on the excellent eye care provided to me by Mann Eye Institute for almost 20 yrs.I have complained over the bombardment of txt messages and emails about upcoming appointments and lack of coordination with the back office in scheduling an appointment to suit me.I had an appointment scheduled and confirmed for April 17, but when I got there I was not on the schedule, they then told me Tina Burr was unavailable that day, so I rescheduled for 24 April, having travelled down from Brenham, 80 miles each way.I arrived before my 10:20 am but was not seen until 10:40 am by Kenneth, who took 30+ minutes to do my pre-exam tests and repeated the eye scans a number of times until 11:25 am. I was finally seen by Tina Burr at 11:40 am & advised her of my concern that Kenneth did not perform well and kept asking me the same questions repeatedly. He also used the same tissue to wipe both eyes after putting in drops for dilation, that could create cross infection. I finally got out of the clinic at 12:00 noon.Tina Burr was very professional as always, but the reception & Kenneth need to sharpen up their act in dealing with patients.I see new staff every time I go there now, but they do not seem to know my medical history or read my notes on past treatments.I also dislike going through the AI computer system to get an appointment, you can no longer call up for an appointment. The computer did not register my appointment for 17 April. The new facility is very good but at the end of the day it is the people there who deal with patients that make the Mann difference and standards are slipping at Greatwood.
