I can see clearly now....that I have new contacts!brbrIve been a patient at Vision Max for about 3-4 years, and event though it is a little out of the way its worth the drive. Dr. Planty and his staff are very efficient and I rarely ever wait to be seen at my scheduled appointment time. The office isnt super fancy, but then again if youre there your vision isnt 100%, so who cares? brbrThe main reason I keep coming back is because they are able to take digital images of your eyes! If youve ever had an eye exam, then youve had your eyes dilated and for me - this is like eyeball torture! I get the worst headaches and feel like a zombie for the rest of the day. Well at Vision Max, I dont have to worry about that! For $20 extra, they take the digital image of both eyes, and then I dont have to walk around feeling like my eyes are floating outside of my head!brbrCheck up went well...only a small change in the spec script, and a new brand of contacts has my eyeballs feeling like a million bucks!

My husband and I went for the free consultation for LASIK and scheduled him for the procedure. Julie was extremely helpful and helped with some rescheduling issues and a lost prescription all via email.brbrThe day of the procedure, we arrived at 3 oclock for his appointment. We waited until 4:10 until a young man gathered everyone together to go over the drops and post-surgical instructions. While they were going over everything, my husband was called to the back, but wasnt able to go when called because of this. I felt this was a very poor use of time and after waiting for so long, they should have been done going over post-op care long before. brbrOnce in the back, the technician came in and cleaned his eyes with a gauze with no gloves on and she left the room without washing her hands. I saw several employees in the back operatory hallways walking around with Starbucks and in a medical facility that needs to be kept in the break room. brbrI got to stand outside and watch the surgery on a tv monitor. It was quick and even though my husband was not very happy immediately after, his memory of the procedure is fading quickly and hes ecstatic that his vision is basically perfect three days later.brbrHe did complain that he didnt meet the doctor until the day of the surgery and he felt as though he was scolded a bit during the procedure. Upon completion of the treatment, he was shuffled right out the door, no time to decompress and no one to ask questions to on the way out. brbrThis is a kind of get-in-get-out place that seems to have a huge disconnect between the front and back offices. I think they still deserve four stars, but for my surgery I will be looking for a smaller, more compassionate office.

Corrective lenses have been a part of my life since age 12, when the requisite taunts of FOUR EYES! and WINDOW FACE! were thrown in my face. Things improved slightly in high school with contact lenses, though I resigned myself to itchy, scratchy mornings.brbrWell, now that I have a job, I jumped all over their Groupon and took the plunge. After reading through their informed consent (blah blah blah possible blindness blah blah blah), got some numbing drops and tried to keep my eyes as still as I could as the laser did its thing. The smell of burnt flesh was a bit disconcerting but experienced no pain whatsoever, just a bit of pressure for a few seconds and bright red lights. I believe it was Dr. Stern who did the procedure. brbrHad really dry eyes for the first few days, and saw halos at night for a few weeks, but everything seems to have stabilized. Just a great feeling! It cut the time it takes to get ready in the morning from 5 min......to 3 min. No complications whatsoever, though I was told I had really thick corneas. Thats What She Said, she being the treatment coordinator. brbrTop notch customer service here as well as the latest technology.

I had horrible vision for 30+ years and finally had Lasik at Mann. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff and physicians are super friendly and personable. Their technology is the most up-to-date available. The office is nice and convenient, and I was seen relatively promptly at most of my appointments. The only reason Im giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that their appointment system is a little squirrel-y. After my very first, free initial evaluation, the person I saw set me up with an appointment for the second, in-depth evaluation. He wrote the appointment down on a piece of paper. I planned my whole work day around making that appointment and then the night before I get an email that the appointment is at a different time later in the day. When I called to complain, they did accomodate me, but then it happened again where I was just set for 2 random appointments post-surgery without even being consulted as to whether they fit with my schedule. Again, I called to have them re-scheduled, but it wouldve been nice if theyd just checked with me first. If you stay on top of that, youll have a great experience.
