Was diagnosed with Macular edema by Eye doctor during an exam, was referredto see a retina specialist. I selected Dr Hairston as I have been to The Eye Institute of West Florida and was impressed with the care I had received there. Met with the doctor after a series of tests and he recommended a series of eye injections which scared me, but rather do that than lose my sight. He is a no nonsense dr and very comforting, great staff especially Abraham who did the prepping, would refer him to all

I have no problem with Dr. Johnson's abilities. My problem lies with him allowing his staff to double and triple book his appointments. I have had 3 appointments with him in the past 2 years. The LEAST amount of wait time I had before seeing him was 55 minutes and the MOST amount of wait time I incurred was an 1hr and 20minutes. At that point I left his office and never saw him. This is totally unacceptable and rude. My time is valuable, too! I will never go back there.

I always find everyone a pleasure to see and leave extremely grateful to Dr. Schwartz for his diligence in maintaining my eyesight. I have remained with Dr. Schwartz even though I have lived in two different counties since my initial visit with him. My husband and I trust him and it makes it worth the drive.

Here are some advice for those considering this facility for lasik or cataract procedures:<br> Understand, upfront, this is assembly line eye care. Even after spending thousands of dollars you could get stuck with a unexpected $500 bill. Do not depend on them to tell you what your insurance will or will not pay - contact your insurance company directly before the procedure, If your doctor is Weinstock, make sure you get in writing that he is actually doing your procedure or you could be looking up into the face of a person you have never met as your eyeball is being lasered. Keep your expectations for your end result low. You may or may not be stuck still wearing glasses or you may have halos around lights at night. These surgeries are not always everything they are cracked up to be. Be aware!
