    I was worried when I went into my appointment with Dr Hairston. He thoroughly examined my eyes & confirmed my diagnosis of ARMD Age Related Macular Degeneration. Then he explained that with injections the disease could be halted. When I went in for my first injection in my right eye, again I was apprehensive. The lady who gave me the numbing drops & Novocain was very knowledgeable & very sympathetic. She put me at ease. When Dr Hairston came in, he graciously answered my questions. Before I knew it, he said look up and the shot was completed. A small discomfort but not as bad I had thought it might be.It was a good overall experience. Everyone was so helpful, caring & thoughtful. I would recommend the Eye Institute of West Florida to anyone who needs any kind of eye care.

    I had been to my optometrist for 3 weeks dealing with a supposed scratch in my eye. As a mother of 2 young children I am sure you can imagine how difficult it was, not to be able to conduct my affairs for 3 weeks. So going into the 4th week and $180 later, I went to Doctor Kane. Dr. Kane was able to solve the problem in 10 mins of seeing me.I am so grateful for specialist like him.He has great bed side manner and was very professional.I recommend Dr. Kane. I had a great experience.P.S., the staff at the Largo location was also very kind helpful and professional.If all the location are this great, I will definitely be switching to eye institute for my eye care.
