GO ELSEWHERE -- where doctors and their staff actually CARE about their patients!!!

Actually, I am sort of glad the reservation staff was so rude.... because of their hostile, uncompassionate treatment -- I went ahead and booked elsewere. Now, after reading all the Yelp reviews of rude staff, over-charges and long wait times, I am SO glad I did not also have to go through that agony.

The doctor, that my health insurer recommended here seems to have a very good pedigree and it really is a shame that such a good doctor would be working with such rude staff where they run "patient mill". I was very concerned about getting an appointment before the end of the month. About two weeks before my appointment, I learned that theyhad booked me with the wrong doctor -- and it would be 6 weeks before I could see the right doctor. ( Meanwhile, I am worried and scared about my deteriorating eye site). I started to cry (out of fear and frustration of not being able to get an appointment before my insurance will run out). Rather than being kind, the receptionist started to get angry at me.

I went back to my insurance company, they recommended another doctor (one with EXCELLENT Yelp reviews) and I got an appointment with him in a week! The staff at Pacific Eye Associates was SO rude and so inconsiderate -- probably the worst I have encountered for any medical office. . When I made one last call to cancel my appointments, I was told that I wasn't being cooperative.

Oh my, in this day and age of so many good people out of work and looking for jobs, why does this place allow people with such poor customer service skills to stay on?

i was NOT made aware the dilation of pupils was an outofpocket cost ($60 at the time) until i went to pay what i thought was my co-pay for what had been ordered as a 'complete eye examination' by my personal physician. i explained i was unprepared to pay the co-pay and additional fee, but the person said sorry and waited for payment. i wrote them at least several times explaining the above and i was diabled on a fixed income and until i filed a BBB complaint that inlcuded my intention of going to small claims - they still refused to respond to the question of why the billing is not clear, likewise they refused to explain why the procedure is NOT part of a 'full eye examination' or why it is considered optional both in procedure and billing. ps-they also forgot to provide proctective wear for my eyes and created a serious hazard for me walking home in bright sunlight with that kind of dilation of pupils and never responded to that liability either - BUYER BEWARE!

Review Part 2: So I asked Dr. Sung given that she was a supposed specialist, why my father wasn't better after the second surgery. She stated that she had tried to fix retinal detachment, and it was supposedly fixed but after 9 weeks of treatment and reassurances, my father now had a complete retinal detachment. When I told her that Dr. Reader hasn't said anything about retinal detachment to me or my father, and instead stated that he had accidentally cut my father's retina, she had the nerve to tell me I must have misunderstood what he said! She was not in the room when said what he said, on the other hand I and my father were in the room and heard what the doctor said very well! This person was trying to backtrack for Dr. Reader by attempting to distort what was said without her presence and by telling me she found no evidence of retina being cut. She said that would be accompanied by a bloody eye, infection, etc. and she did not see it. On the other hand, WE SAW all of these symptoms at home! That's why my father had such incredibly high eye blood pressure, horrific headaches, nausea, and vomiting! They were all caused by the injuries he sustained from the hands of these two incompetent, lying doctors. I told her that she will not be operating on my father anymore and we are taking him out of this hospital to a different doctor. In the meantime, I started researching Dr. Reader and talking to the people on whom had performed cataract surgeries. As it turns out, there were at least a dozen people with terrible results after the surgeries! Much worse off than before the surgery! Neither the hospital nor the medical board did anything to discipline this doctor! We are appalled! My father now had a third surgery to salvage his eye and fix his total blindness despite Dr. Reader's claims that he would have a 20/20 eye site, with yet another doctor and needs to have a fourth surgery on the same eye! I want people to know what these two doctors did to my father and our family, how they tried to cover up what happened, how they withheld critical information from the patient and family, how they lied and covered up for each other, and what unbelievable damage the caused to my father! The staff wasn't any better either. They were rood, insensitive, and failed to provide adequate information during and after the surgeries to our family. If you want to go blind, then see those two doctors. If you don't, RUN!!!

I wish I could recommend this practice or having glasses made. I came with my partner to get our eyes checked. Also to purchase new glasses. We both had perfect exam but was exposed to conjunctivitis. Had to pay out of pocket for the conjuctivitis which was insult after the clean bill from the inital eye exam. The glasses that I bought the lens kept falling out. It was real disappointment. I can't recommend them to anyone at this time. It was expensive lesson I learned out of pocket expense and no insurance.
