Dr. So did cateract surgery on me and left a piece of the cateract in. I was sent home and developed great pain and bleeding, and Dr. So reoperated the next day. He damaged my cornea, which resulted in two additional surgeries by other eye surgeons to correct the problem. After 2 years, I have not recovered my loss of depth perception and peripheral vision in that eye. I would not recommend Dr. So.

Dr. Seiff provided the worst medical experience I've had in my life. And, I've had multiple surgeries, procedures, and consultations for numerous ailments over years.

Arrogance doesn't begin to describe this guy. But, if that were the only issue, then, fine. But, his description of the possible effects of my procedure were so poorly correlated with my own experience that I was literally in disbelief.

More than that, after the procedure, when my eye was SWOLLEN shut, with swollen, impaired, blurry and teary vision and numbing pain that lasted 3 weeks (he said "I'd have my contacts in the next day" - and that's a quote). He 100% changed his tune about what he said in the consultation. He backtracked, and said, "Well, it's like touching skin on a burning stove". What?!? That description was NEVER ONCE mentioned in the consultation beforehand when I asked about possible side effects. I truly wish I had recorded him, but his words are etched in my mind.

BOTTOM LINE: it's been almost 18 months and my eye is still not recovered from the effects and tears up constantly (another side effect that was NEVER mentioned). If even just one person reads this and decides to go elsewhere, than I feel like I've helped someone out and saved them from a possible horrible experience.

I have been a patient for about 3+ years. I was referred to Dr. King for an exam and a prescription. He has the worse professional demeanor I have experienced. At the outset of the exam he placed his device over my eye without consideration for my comfort. He never inquired about the placement of his device. He simply began to recite "can you read any of the lines." The whole process was sit down let me do my thing and then leave. Leave I did and I will not be returning to Dr. King. His professionalism is sorely lacking and takes from the wonderful work I have received in the past from the staff. I have referred many friends to Dr. So and they have been pleased with the care they received. Maybe the fact that his office is the last one and quite an unpleasant place to be. I felt like I was with a "used car salesman."

The optometrist, Thomas King, is possibly the most unprofessional person I've ever encountered. He actually sent an insulting message to my work email address in response my earlier Yelp review (below). Apparently I was right--he is rude and short-tempered, as well unprofessional and obviously lacking in judgment.

Notably, the manager was dismayed by this optometrist's behavior when I called to report what happened. Unfortunately, I assume the manager will not be able to correct this optometrist's unprofessional attitude and conduct.

My visit was for an optometry exam. It should have been pretty easy. It wasn't.

First of all, I didn't care for the way I was treated here. Customer service is nil.

Secondly, the place is a mill filled with with teeny, airless little exam rooms and possibly hundreds of people passing through every day.

The minute you ask for the most basic service the up-selling begins. No thanks.

The visit was a waste of transportation, time and parking fees.

When you have a place like Richmond Vision Care why would anyone want to go to an overcrowded, stuffy, airless, impersonal hospital floor for something simple like an optometry visit especially when they don't even accept basic insurance.

Not me!
