It was absolutely horrible. I didn't even get evaluated. The wait was over 2 hrs so I let.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone! I tried to give the fort Myers location the benefit of the doubt- I had a horrible experience 3 years ago at the Leigh Acres. The staff was rude, rolling their eyes, not giving me paperwork for 15 minutes... of course I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time to even be seen. The office was DIRTY! The sink in the exam room looked like a fraternity house sink. I needed a contact case and the girl "found" one in a basket... it was used! The doctor didn't introduce herself to me or say hello. Her assistant was coughing terribly in the room with us. Overall disgusting, horrible service, not friendly or professional. I will go out of my coverage and go back to lens crafters.

About eight years ago my father had cataract surgery with Jonathan Frantz. Surgery on the first eye was fine but there was a complication with the second eye. After surgery Dr. Frantz came out to explain to me that surgery had taken longer because my father had a "floppy iris" and surgery was a little more complicated. Later that day after surgery we called the office back because as per the post-op directions, my Dad was having uncommon effects. We visited the outpatient center in Cape Coral and the doctor there was extremely concerned about what he saw. He made multiple phone calls and ended up draining my Dad's eye manually to relieve some of the pressure. He eventually sent us back to the main surgery center where, after examining Dad they scheduled him for another surgery the following morning. The next day Frantz performed surgery on that eye again. Things seemed better but after a few days my father noticed that he couldn't see straight ahead, at the center point of his vision. After three different appointments we FINALLY got to see Dr. Frantz again. I had many questions during that appointment and while I was not angry or offensive at all, just concerned, Dr. Frantz WAS extremely defensive and rude. He even got up to leave after maybe three minutes with us saying "it's obvious they don't want to hear what we have to say," when all I had been trying to clarify with him was if the complication with the surgery could have caused the vision loss. He repeatedly said that the appointment immediately following surgery #3 showed my Dad at100% vision and any other problem must be something new or unrelated to surgery. He was very rude, arrogant and unsympathetic. We ended up having to go all the way to Naples and Miami to seek second opinions because area doctors wouldn't treat Dad since he was Frantz's patient. Ultimately there was nothing any other doctor could, or would do, so all these years later my father still doesn't have all his vision in that eye. I'm aware Frantz cranks out thousands of successful surgeries each month and I'm sure he's great at what he does but on the rare occasion where there may be a complication, he is obviously more concerned with covering himself than with helping his patient find a solution. He treated us as if we were trying to sue him, or accuse him falsely, or worse. I would never, ever recommend this doctor to anyone. If everything works out I'm sure he's fine, but when there is a problem, as there was in my father's case, he is unreasonable and unhelpful and irresponsible. I think a person's behavior during a crisis speaks volumes of their character. I'm so sorry for Dad that we found that out the hard way.

I went Frantz Eye Care for an eye exam to obtain a new prescription to buy new reading glasses. I took the new Frantz prescription to Costco and purchased new glasses. When I picked to glasses up from Costco the prescription was not even close. I first thought it was a mistake by Costco, but they double checked the glasses per the Frantz prescription and the Costco technician said they were accurate to the prescription. I called Frantz and explain to them the situation and that the prescription was not accurate and the glasses I bought from Costco could not be used. They refused to correct the error. I spoke to management and they still refused to correct their error.<br>My next course of action was to go back to my eye care physician in Minnesota to have a proper exam. They provide me with the correct prescription and Costco was gracious enough to redo the glasses even though it was Frantz Eye Care mistake.

I had cataract surgery 3 weeks ago. had post op visit with him today. My vision is very blurry with shadows. He stated "what did you expect". I said 20/20 vision by now. He said there's never a guarantee and to a tech print her out the papers she signed to read again. During surgery another doctor introduced himself as doing the laser part. I was unaware of another doctor and never signed for him.I was told good vision almost immediately. Will I ever have it? Still need glasses or a contact
