Absolutely the worst professional medical experience ever! This organization herds you like cattle and treats you like sheep. You are nothing more than a number, made to wait hours and hours, and they fail to follow up with you at every turn. I literally had to start all over with a new provider because of their ineptitude in general. I would prefer to go with limited vision then do trust my care to this organization

Omg if you want to go bankrupt use Franz eye care. As seniors he will drain every penny out of you. You are paying for his elaborate office with no consideration for seniors on limited income

New patient, first visit. Had an appointment with my local optometrist Dr. Thy Nguyen. Had to wait a long time for an opening. Three days before my scheduled appointment received an email from Frantz eye care indicating the location of my appointment changed. Evidently Dr Fran's made another buyout of a great independent local eye doctor and rolled it into the "Fran's Eye Care" conglomerate that puts independent optometrists out of business. Arrived early to walk into the brand new giant "Taj Mahal" type building of Franz Eye Care, bigger than many gambling casinos. Overall impressions crowded, noisy, ridiculous quantity of huge chandeliers hanging from the high approximately 14' ceiling. Selection of eye glass frame brands and choice extremely limited. No high end eyewear in sight such as Fendi, Versace, Tom Ford, LaFont, Alain Mikli nor Armani. The frame pricing for average Ray Ban type frames priced extremely high. Perhaps thats what pays for chandelier's. Was called up to the multiple receptionists area after my early morning appoint time and asked for my drivers license and insurance card. I handed those over and advised the receptionist to key in my ID and Insurance information as I do not permit my Medicare and Drivers license to be scanned into anyones computer system (you don't know their level of access or security protection from identity theft). The "Chief Receptionist's" interrupted to inform me they must scan copied into their "system". Advised her she was welcome to keyboard in the information she needed. However I don't permit anyone to copy my personal government issued documents as I've been a prior victim of identity theft. She got indignant and told me she must scan them into their computer. Advised her she was rude. Told her to have nice day. I walked out, came home and made an immediate appointment with an independent optometrist who has the clients best interest as a priority. Evidently the Franz Enterprise does not understand when they exceed the statutory limit of what information they may demand from their clients. I've seen several reviews of Franz demanding patients proprietary information and "lifetime authorization"s And " mandatory arabization agreements". Won't deal with a medical team of conglomerate minds that takes their patients I think for granted. Prediction: Class action suit and/or out of business in a few short years. Good luck.

About a month ago I was having spots in front of my eyes. I went to Frantz and saw an optometrist who explained why this happens sometimes but said my eyes looked okay. She did refer me to their retinal specialist just to make sure their was nothing more serious with my eyes. I had to wait a month for an appointment and in that time the spots went away. I decided to go to the specialist anyway. My appointment was for 10:45am. Arrived at their new office at 10:25 and was called back at 10:35. My eyes were dilated at that time. At NOON I was put in an exam room. 20 minutes later they sent me back to the small waiting room because the doctor wanted another test!!? Sat until 12:30 and told one of the staff I was leaving. Her response was"ok that's fine". My wife and I then drove home. At 12:55 the office called saying they were looking for me. When I complained about the wait time the staff person told me "that Dr.? is a specialist and I should expect to wait up to 4 hours"! I've seen a lot of specialists and never had to wait 4 hours. Needless to say we won't be returning.

Please if you are thinking of having cataract surgery and replacing lens' with the Toric lens. ASK QUESTIONSOn 7/9/21, I saw a Dr. Birch at Franz eye care. I was given 2 options. Remove my cataracts and replace with regular lens', and this is covered by Medicare. I could select to correct my astigmatism and do an IOL upgrade and insert Toric Lens which Medicare does not cover. $3,000.00 per eye. Dr Birch along with the person who explains billing both told me that with this procedure I would be able to see distance without glasses and only need readers for small print. On 8/12/21, Again discussed the outcome if I did the IOL Toric Lens and was told the same. I will be able to see distance without glasses and only need readers for close up. I asked about the disclaimer describing the chances of double vision or blindness and was told that that was extremely rare, and they have to notify everyone. I asked just like when an ad says all the sides effects from a drug, and they replied yes. I decided to do the Toric Lens. What they should explain is that if you get the IOL Toric lens for distance; you will lose any of your close-up vision you had before. I wasn't told this.9/8/21, and 1st surgery on left eye.9/9/21, had checkup and was told all looked good.9/29/21, Surgery on right eye9/30/21, Eye check. Informed Dr. Johnson I was seeing double close up and was not happy with the outcome of the surgery.10/5/21, Informed Dr. Johnson still seeing double. She was very concerned and caring and would report this to the Fort Myers office.10/5/21, Fort Myers office contacted me. She wasn't very compassionate and told me to get several pairs of cheaters and put one in each room and use them when I want to see close up. Also, that there was a possibility they could do an adjustment to my eyes at the cost of $1500 per eye.10/15/21, Complained I was still not happy.10/18/21, Fort Myers office called and said Dr. Birch wanted me to see a Dr. Feeder in their office. He wants to try placing a contact in one eye to see close up.10/25/21, Appointment with Dr. Feeder. She dilated and checked eyes; felt I was not a candidate for the one lens. She was going to prescribe bifocal glasses for me that would be temporary and at the end of 3 weeks check my eyes to see if they have changed. If not at that time they will tweak my eyes to see better. I have no idea what tweak means. She also inserted plugs. She asked me what I wanted to see near or far. I said I want to see what I was told. Distance with no glasses and readers for small close up.12/10/21, Saw Dr. Birch and again discussed how unhappy I was with the outcome of my surgery. Basically, he said you are seeing 20/20 for distance and close up it is what it is and there is nothing he can do.2/10/2022, Now I am wearing Bi-focals to see anything and readers for the computer. Before surgery I was able to see my phone, computer and do things prepare meals without glasses. Now I need them to do anything, plus need to change to readers for the computer. Here is the kicker. I went to get a new driver's license. Guess What? I couldn't pass the vision test without my glasses on. So much for 20/20 seeing distance and spending $6,000 for nothing. 2/12/2022, I tried once again contacting Franz about the outcome. I have received several emails stating their management team will be contacting me. Last once received on 2/28/2022. No one has reached out yet. Before you decide to do any type of surgery with Franz. Please ask a lot of questions.
