On Tuesday, March 31, 2015 I was interrupted by staff telling me I could not finish visit because of policy change in insurance. They actually stopped the appointment and ushered me out the door & I felt like a criminal and was very upset. Someone should have checked that out beforehand and I could have saved myself some embarrassment and humiliation. Cheryl R. Thorsen.

This doctor crossed ethical lines that prompted me to change physicans during a sensitive post-operative period. His comments ranged from jokes about domestic violence to sexually inappropriate language. When I took my concerns to the Director of Operations she questioned whether I had misheard or misunderstood what this doctor said, and assured me she would research the issue. In the ensuing conversation, she referred to patients at this eye clinic as old ladies not ten minutes after professing this practice prides itself on professional and respectful care. I was given conflicting instructions regarding post-operative eye drop instillation, and when I tried to clarify the instructions with the prescribing doctor, he couldnt be bothered to listen to my questions before telling me to continue taking them as you are and hanging up, without a clear understanding of how I was taking them. Worst medical experience of my life! If he were the last retinal surgeon on earth, I would not subject myself to his care.Billing errors were greater than two thousand dollars, which included the billing department insisting I had to pay a $1200 deductible, even though it had already been met, and charging out of network fees when both the MD and surgery center were in network. Prior to surgery, I asked specifically about additional billing and was never told about any out of network charges. The person in the billing department could not explain any of the billing charges to me and I had to go to the director of the billing department with the issue. Not a single person apologized for any of these errors. On the upside, the clinic receptionists and the young lady who scheduled me for surgery were professional, efficient, and a pleasure to interact with. The nurses at the surgery center were kind, knowledgeable, and generous with warm blankets. The van service was very convenient and the driver thoughtful and helpful. They should give lessons on common courtesy to the higher-ups.
