Take long time to see the doctor. Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Only one doctor at the office and too many assistants

I waited over two hours. Not enough support staff. Nothing like it used to be over a year ago.Disappointed.

Horrible wait time of 2 hours. When asked why we were scheduled to be seen at 2:30 when they knew she wouldn't be seen until 4:30, they had no explanation. Instead they offered up, "I know, the wait time is our biggest complaint." If it's your bigger complaint then fix it!!!

I found this practice to be very unethical, inconsistent and money driven. First of all, many of the good doctors (like Dr. Sims) leave fast. Spoke to manager David and rude receptionist Carol today. I am an existing patient and have medical insurance that covers routine eye exams/checkups once every 2 years. The Eye Institute of W. Florida is in network with my insurance and I have been seen in their office by Dr. Sims 2 years ago with the SAME exact coverage and no problem. I went to schedule my check up today and they are trying to say I need a medical diagnosis to be seen. Well the medical diagnosis is a routine eye exam. I am in the healthcare profession and know what is going on here. They are looking for ways to up charge insurance or go through vision coverage which probably reimburses more. This is so unexceptable. Complaints are being filed with DOH and my medical records have been requested to determine what "medical diagnosis" was used with Dr. Sims. I would like to know how Dr. Sims was able to see me with no problems, but now there is an issue. Greed!

The front desk staff are the most unprofessional people I've ever met in a medical office. I was literally laughed at on the phone when I called to tell the staff that my eyes are burning and constantly noticeably red since starting new prescription eye drops! She laughed and said those are just the side effects and I'll just have to deal with it! I couldn't believe she said that to me! I later came back for a follow up and the front desk staff just looked at me like I interrupted her while I waited patiently in line. She then opened her eyes widely and said HI! very loudly in my face but no other greeting. It was uncalled for when I was just in line to check in. Dr. Schwartz, the glaucoma specialist, is nice and professional. It's unfortunate that this is the only glaucoma specialist in a very large radius because it's always a bad mood and unprofessional behavior from the front desk staff. If you're not going for glaucoma, find a specialist somewhere else to be treated like a normal human being.
