I did my exam and they informed me that their optical department was closed and suggest I go to the largo location with my prescription. I called and made an appointment at the largo location then the next day I drove 45 minutes only to be told that they do not accept my insurance and they cannot help me. I was very upset because I wasnt asked for my insurance nor did they last at this location told me to verify my insurance before going. I assume since they took my insurance here that they would accept it at the largo also. I will not be going back

There is no way that I would recommend Dr. Laplume. I went to him after seeing another doctor for almost 20 years. I asked questions and shared things that had been done with my previous physician. Midway through the appointment he suggested that I return to that physician because I was making him feel bad. I have never seen a doctor who objected to hearing about a patient's previous experience or who was more concerned about his feelings than mine.

Dr Desai diagnosed me with dry eye. The appointment felt rushed and I was skeptical about this diagnosis so I sought out a second opinion to find out that I have keratoconus.

I had my first appointment on January 5th with Dr. Grunska and we were going to try Sclera lens. However after multiple attempts to get it right, it was just not meant to be. She referred me back to Dr. Barriero to get my old contacts. I had an appointment April 30th and saw Barriero and he was ordering my contacts for me. Fast forward a month later I still don't have my contacts and the eye Institute of West Florida has failed to even contact me about this. I've called and haven't heard anything. I'm very aggravated it's taking this long to get contacts. I can barely see out of my old ones due to a bad scratch on them. I've spent all this money and haven't gotten a single thing in return. Worst service I've encountered at an eye Institute....Ohh yeah I was charged over $1400 for the sclera lens but returned them for a credit. Still waiting to see that as well. I'm going to reach out to my insurance provider and complain as well because now due to them charging me, I can't see another doctor til next year!!!!UPDATE 6/2/21: I had to call again and I was met with "I was off yesterday and you're getting me in trouble with my manager. This concern has nothing to do with us but the ophthalmic department. " Seriously I don't care who's fault it is, I just wanted my contacts. I'm done with them, I'll go elsewhere where they're competent enough to handle ordering contacts. I've patiently waited since January, now my patience is done. I've never had to endure this long of wait for simple contacts.
