I was skeptical that this would be a tourist trap, but the food was outstanding and the martinis generous!

9 girlfriends and I came here Saturday night for a dinner while we were in town for a bachelorette party. Overall we had a great experience & the food seriously was to die for. Very nice atmosphere that is unique to Portland which we appreciated as it is right on the water. I have the stuffed haddock which was one of the best meals I have ever had. The meatballs, and the crabcakes were also top-notch. The only reason this review was not five stars is the waitress could have been nicer. It seems she was a bit inconvenienced by the large group and we were worried about being too loud as the restaurant was very quiet. I think if we came back on separate dates (2-4 people at a table) it absolutely would deserve five stars! Prior to leaving the owner checked in with our table which also was appreciated a nice gesture. I will be back!

This restaurant is inside a barge, although you wouldn't necessarily know that unless someone told you. In an area where you have to pay for parking everywhere, it is nice to have a free, huge lot for customers. <br><br>I had a lobster and a side and a cocktail. All were really satisfying and fairly reasonably priced. I came in April, and I think the prices go up (and the wait times!) in the summer.<br><br>The service was nice and the waitress was accommodating and laughed at all my dumb jokes. I think this is a great place to bring out of town friends or to come with an older relative. It isn't really hip like a lot of other eateries, but it does seem like an institutions and sometimes you just need to travel back in time and check it out.
