We had a bit of a snafu at the start when we called ahead and were told we didn't need reservations, but then were told when we arrived it would be a 90 minute wait. After rechecking, the hostess modified that wait time to 45 minutes (which was perfectly acceptable). We had a wonderful meal with superior service, an excellent view and very warm, inviting surroundings. The steamed clams were a seemingly endless bucket, and the bacon-wrapped scallops were the hit of the appetizers! 1 1/2 pound steamed lobster was, as you would expect, excellent!

If you haven't been to Dimillo's before then it can come off as a tourist trap. It's a big ferry turned into a restaurant. But as a local I can tell you it is definitely not a tourist trap. Far from it. Their food is very good, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the views are some of the best in Portland. I'm a fan of Dimillo's and I've happily sent a lot of friends and family their way.

I had the lobster. It was good but not amazing. The service was very slow but the server made it right, it took over a hour for our food to come out AFTER we got our soup. It wasn't too busy either. I think it was maybe just the server, the other servers were taking much better care of their customers.

Lobster was good.
Clam chowder was good.
Food wasn't spectacular but it was cool that we were on a boat.
It's worth checking out.
