What a great place. I went into this place with the preconceived notion that it would be a mediocre run of the mill seafood restaurant running solely on it's reputation. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! The first thing is if you have the option ask for Ozzy as your server. He made this experience such a delight. If Dimillo's actually reads this review please give him my highest commendations.

My grandmother was eager to go again so she treated my mom and me to lunch. We started with drinks. Mom had a Venezuelan Pino Grigio that she was a big fan of. I started with a hot and dirty martini and a diet coke. Grandma had iced tea.

We started off with an appetizer of the sauteed mussels. And this is ONLY one of two reasons I give this rating four stars instead of five... The description of the mussels read: "With white wine, garlic and Raye's sweet & spicy mustard". When they arrived they were SWIMMING in butter. You could not taste any wine or mustard and it all came across as a bit heavy. It was delicious with the bread served before the meal, but not what I wanted; which was a light broth.

Mom got fried calamari and the pear & gorgonzola Salad with grilled chicken. The calamari was light, crispy and not one bit greasy. Her salad was perfectly pre-dressed. Everything from the delicate bib lettuce to the juicy pear was so very fresh. She noted the chicken didn't necessarily tasted "grilled" but was delicious and moist breast meat none the less. I had a few bites and was impressed.

Grandma got the french onion soup, and the pilot house salad. She thought there was too much "stuff". Too much onion, cheese, bread, and not enough broth. I personally thought the soup was very good as I prefer a thicker stew like onion soup. She said it was tasty but not what she was hoping for. She enjoyed the salad however.

I got the fried clam dinner with fries. I can not say enough good about this meal. The fries were thick cut and crispy, not soggy. The clams were fresh, tender, crispy and and not one bit greasy. The house made tarter sauce was AMAZING! I got extra to take home. Everyone else had the same observations about the clams. They really were some of the best I've ever had, and this is coming from a fried clam snob from New Hampshire. During my meal I also got one of their specialty jumbo bloody Marys and this is where my other criticism lies... It was my opinion (and my mom's too) that there just wasn't enough vodka. The flavor was great, just a little too weak.

At the end my mom and I split one of their tiramisu which was on the specials menu. I can't say enough good about this either. The lady fingers were absolutely drenched in espresso and the cream was light and not too sweet. It really was the perfect way to end the meal.

Great spot! An old Ferry on the water. Every seat is a good view. Main courses were gigantic and the staff was excellent! Try the Lobster Stew for sure and the Scallops on a cedar plank were cooked to perfection!!
