visiting from new york and ate here for lunch. awesome setting on a boat and beautiful window views. ordered the lobster roll and it was everything i dreamed it would be. our server stephanie was such a sweetheart and had great suggestions for us. the only bummer was for their new $5 sides sign that was displayed. i was really excited to order the jalapeno crab dip until i read the "served monday-friday" along the top. it shouldn't be displayed on the weekends. such a teaser!

Ok.... Back after trying other restaurants in Portland and not being satisfied. I had an awful experience with service back in September at Dimillo's, so I vowed I would try other restaurants. I'm back and glad.
Lobster is good as always but the bar service with Lisa and Vanessa was outstanding. Thank goodness!!!
So happy right now.
Only issue.... The meatball app is $9 and you only get 2 large.... Not xlarge meatballs.
Still my favorite in Portland.

I went to Portland on a road trip with the idea of having lobster and seafood during my stay in this beautiful city. I was recommended a few restaurants and this one was on the list. The restaurant is a boat and has a very appropriate theme for the area. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the crab cakes as well as the Lazy Lobster. They were both amazing. The crab cakes were filled with crab chunks and the lobster was delicious and out of its shell in a delicious flavorful stew. There was no mess. I will definitely return when I am in Portland.

I came to Portland, ME for a work trip and was determined to have some tasty local (lobster) food. A few folks on the plane/working in the airport mentioned this place, so I figure I would give it a go!

It has a great atmosphere--dimly lit, nautical themed, low noise level, on the water--and the food and service are great as well. My server was very quick and chatty (I learned that November January and February are their slowest season and I was his 3rd table of the day at 5pm) and he helped recommend some great things on the menu.

I got the clam chowder and the Lazy Lobster. Both were so tasty! The soup had hearty chunks of clam and was very thick, so while it was good, I think I should have just gotten a bowl. Plus, they have a special going on right now for discounted appetizers ($5 ricotta balls, $2.50 clam chowder bowl, $5 calamari, etc) and $1 off all drinks. The Lazy Lobster was $3 less than if it came in the shell, and it came with the same amount of meat.

They had an expansive lunch menu, as well as Italian fare, so all different types of people can be happy at this place! I would love to come back when it's warm out and sit outside--maybe my work will send me back in the summer!

Quick tips from my waiter--the calamari is delicious, and his favorite thing on the menu is the DiMillo's Scallop Sandwich (fried scallops, bacon bits, pepperjack cheese on a torpedo roll)

Ask for a window table and if you have to wait, then do so. The most amazing Haddock!! Great spinach salad with the perfect amount of dressing. My husband really enjoyed his Lobster Club sandwich. This place has great history to it.
