Ya, it might seem over the top touristy, but they delivered on all points. Stiff drinks, good chowda, really good bacon wrapped scallops, prompt and professional service and KILLER views in cool setting. There is a reason they have been around so long.

Absolutely loved the jumbo shrimp in my bloody mary(s)!

My friend and I we're looking for a place that would serve us a dessert at 10pm and we were happy to find this one.
The location is amazing, right on the waterfront, most of the tables with ocean view.
I was actually looking for a dessert but I fell in love with an appetizer: scallops rapped in bacon with maple syrup.
It was delicious!
My friend had a brownie Sunday which was really good too.
I only gave 4 stars cause it's a little too expensive but we had a great experience and the staff was really nice :)

After all of the cboicesi n the Portland area we chose DiMillos. We were very impressed by the ambience and the menu. The views were out of this world. We ordered crab cakes to share as an appetizer. For my meal I ordered the chicken parm. Wow, the best I've ever had and enough for three people. My husband ordered the broiled seafood trio school came with asparagus and a side. It was lovely, well until he found three long black hairs in his meal. I tried to convince him to send it back, but it was packed and the wait would of been forever. So like most men, he picked them out and ate his meal, yuck. Sorry but after paying tons for eating at this place, hair is unacceptable.

On my second visit to Portland, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of delicious sounding restaurants in Portland. There are so many that it makes choosing a place for dinner a truly daunting task. I wanted somewhere that I could find a classic seafood dinner. I chose DeMillo's on the Water and I am so glad that I did.

DeMillo's offers a beautiful view and a classic charm. It harkens back to the days of getting dressed up for dinner, drinking martinis and listening to jazz. You almost feel as if Frank Sinatra is going to come strolling through the door. That being said, you don't have to dress up to dine here. It is definitely a come-as-you-are kind of place. The main dining room can be a little loud and there wasn't any music which detracted slightly from the charm.

Our waitress was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu and she was prompt and pleasant.

Our food was wonderful! I ordered the Seafood Alfredo which came with shrimp, scallops and lobster (the alfredo had the perfect amount of garlic and the seafood was delicious). My companions ordered the Mixed Seafood broil (with haddock, shrimp and scallops-the shrimp was a little tough), and the Pecan Crusted Haddock which was delicious (this was a nice change of pace and it had a great flavor). I would also recommend the wedge salad which comes with large chunks of bacon. We rounded of the meal with the homemade cheesecake of the day which was Strawberry. It was decadently creamy and not too-sweet.

If you are looking for a classic seafood dinner with a great view of the water and the novelty of being on a boat, then DeMillo's on the Water is the place for you.

Great food, great service and lovely view! Highly recommend the salmon, mashed potatoes, bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp cocktail. Cant get much of a better view than that, we loved watching the sailboats. We are from DC and if we come back to Portland I would return.
