We pulled in just because there was no other parking in Old Port. But stayed for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Once you get past the slightly overdone nautical decor, the service was excellent. My son mentioned he liked broccoli with gravy as an aside to his order and the waitress brought a side of broccoli in addition to his normal side at no charge. Pear Gorgonzola salad was balanced perfectly. My wife had a sirloin that was actually cooked medium-rare.

Lovely for lunch/ dinner on the deck.. View of the water and boats, warm sun, cool shade, good cocktails and fresh seafood! Especially enjoyed their Bloody Mary and Cucumber Martini and then the Lazy Lobster. Good time with friends!

Being local, I've eaten here over 25 times. My first comment....I eat here when I want good fresh shellfish....which Dimillo's does very well. The deck on the bar side is an excellent choice on a nice summer day...Which I'd recommend.

The steamers are excellent, clean, and well portioned. The fried clams are also very good...the bellies burst when bitten. The lobster stew is excellent, with claws, knuckles, and a creamed sherry base. The clam chowder is rich, thick, and full of clams. The shrimp cocktail are huge....and a great meal when pared with the bacon and blue cheese wedge salad.

The lobsters are excellent...you can go lazy....steamed, baked stuffed....or my once a year decadence....the lobster stuffed baked stuffed....delicious.

I'll make a couple other quick comments....I've been in the Dimillo's kitchen on more than one occasion.....the kitchen is spotless....the cleanest I've ever seen commercially. The wine list is very value based, with several named selections at reasonable prices.

Enjoy this place....they do lobster and shellfish first rate....and the view is top notch.

4 stars

It's easy to write this venerable institution off as a "tourist trap" because of its prime location along the main visitor thoroughfare, and wonderful local seafood menu. But you will find many locals inside who are willing to put up with the camera-toting set just to enjoy the varied menu, reasonable prices and great views. During our recent Northeast trip, I was determined to find great lobster, and keep trying until I did. This restaurant won that "competition" hands down.

The service was good, though the hostess was a bit "crabby." Drinks are interesting and creative, and the views are enjoyable, right on the water. On balance, well worth a try!

First time here. The wait was about 30-45mins for a table for two. Longer for tables of 4 or more. Very popular/touristy place. Had the stuffed lobster, steamed lobster and New England clam chowder. All the food was very good. Service was a little slow, but probably because there were so many people. The ship was a car ferry before it was transformed into a restaurant on the water. Overall a good place to go and definitely cool for tourists.
