Excellent service and our attentive waitress Sydney was kind and knowledgeable- I had the Steamed Maine Clams and they were delicious and gritty and fresh! Then a Caesar Salad - generous portion - then I accepted the waitress's recommendation- Pecan encrusted "haddock fillet with butternut squash and cornbread stuffing, dusted with ground pecans and finished with a maple cream sauce"Surprisingly light and polished off with a bottle of Italian Pinot GrigioI'll come again - if only for a cocktail and the view over the harbor

I visited DiMillo's for lunch with my sisters while on a leaf peeping trip. We wanted to have a beautiful lobster lunch. The restaurant is lovely. Very classy, on the water, with beautiful views. Our waitress was amazing. We had an unfortunate family emergency back in TX right as we sat down and she was so patient while we took care of that on the phone for quite some time. Once we ordered, the service was great, as were the drinks. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because my sister and I each got the two lobsters. One steamed, one stuffed. The stuffing was lacking. It was just breadcrumbs moistened with butter. Not much flavor and not what we expected. We were thinking more of a seafood stuffing that you would see in a stuffed crab. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our lunch. If we ever make it back to Portland, we will definitely visit again!

The location was perfect. Right on the water. We had made a reservation so our wait time was next to nothing. I knew I wanted lobster since I was in Maine so I decided on the steamed. I'm normally a crab person so I wasn't sure how to eat it as it came out whole. The server gave me some tips and I attacked the tail first which was the best part... sweet and juicy and very easy to get to. The rest of the lobster wasn't as easy. And I wasn't sure what exactly I could and couldn't eat. The price was very reasonable so I was still very pleased. My older daughter got the fish and chips and was pleased. The fish was flaky and very tasty. Younger daughter got the clams pasta and was also very pleased. The sauce was creamy and there was a lot of clams. Overall great value for your money! You won't be disappointed.

First of all, if you are planning on going to DiMillo's, there is a huge parking lot with ticketed entry in front of the restaurant. Look for their sign and the blue roof. You cannot see the restaurant from the street unless you know what to look for. They will validate your ticket for the time you are in the restaurant (only)Once you walk to the very back of the parking lot down to the water, you will see the restaurant. At the top of the ramp to the restaurant, there was a gal (gatekeeper) who takes names, party sizes & collects phone numbers to notify people when their table is ready. I was there yesterday- mid afternoon on a weekday, by myself. The gate keeper really pushed for me to sit at the bar and said it would be a 30 minute wait otherwise. I politely told her I preferred to wait for a table, thank you. Then she immediately said it would probably be a 45 minute wait... I told her I still preferred to wait for a table. I thought about leaving as I didn't appreciate her pushiness. I'm glad I did not. Four minutes later, I was paged from inside the restaurant - my table was ready. I was seated in the closed in area out on the deck. The restaurant was not full. Beautiful view. I opted for the scallops platter. I got half broiled and half fried with coleslaw. They were just delicious. Very sweet and tender. Formally I would have cringed at the thought of having such a delicate piece of seafood fried as I was afraid it would ruin the texture or overpower the flavor. It did not. The coleslaw lacked flavor, but it was OK. For dessert I ordered their Blueberry cobbler ala mode. It was very good too. Normally this would've been too much food, but it was my one meal for the day and it was perfect. My server (Adam?) did a great job. It's not a cheap place to eat, but if you have limited time and want to be assured of a good meal, I feel confident in recommending this place. I will add that others around me I had lobster and seemed to be quite pleased as well.It would be a five star review if not for the gatekeeper really trying to push me to the bar. If she did that on her own, a little training might be helpful. If she is instructed to shove single travelers to the bar, I hope the management team realizes it gets old and sometimes a real table is appreciated - especially when dropping $60.00 for lunch. Generally speaking, most single travelers who get good service are quite appreciative and that appreciation is reflected in the tip.

Said an hour wait but only 17 mins and we got a great table. Excellent atmosphere in main front room with a view. Started with bacon wrapped scallops and they were tasty with the maple glaze. The lobster Mac was outstanding but huge. Lazy lobster delivers as well. Too full for desserts. Solid drinks, although a bit pricey. Definitely recommend as a solid seafood choice in Portland.
