We had a wonderful lunch but had the worst service. Nicole was terrible. We waited for a long time for everything. Never had we had to wait for chowder, waited a half hour for it. Never was giving bread, even when we asked. She has zero personality and everything is a chore for her, except for when the check comes. She suddenly is super sweet. Second time we have had her and both experiences were the same, terrible!I will say that the food at Dimillo's is fantastic. Highly recommend any of their chowders or the lobster stew. The crab club is the best. Never have had a bad meal there yet.

Two words. SEAFOOD. SCAMPI. Amazing dish that combines fresh seafood and angel hair pasta. Service was a little slow, not sure if it was because we had a bigger group but that was the only drawback to the meal. Everyone at the table seemed to be very happy with their selections as well. Lazy lobster got a lot of great reviews.

What a nice surprise to find a perfect seafood restaurant on our first trip to Portland, Maine. There are a lot of seafood pubs and restaurants around the downtown seafront and they may be good too, but this one I would recommend.

We had the lazy lobster and the broiled haddock, both perfectly cooked, and not overly seasoned as is so often the case these days. I offer wonder if some chefs do so much tasting that their taste buds are dulled and over the years they add more salt to keep the seasoning to the level they think is perfect. Just look at Thai food in Thailand, it's so hot (I believe) that over the decades taste buds become dulled and crave more and more chilli!

Anyway, back to the food. The broiled haddock was flakey and melt in the mouth, with baked potato and carrots. The lobster came with coleslaw, and is best described as tender morsels of happiness. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, and despite my very English accent, made a great effort to work out what I wanted when asking for a glass of water!

The prices are not at the low end, but not excessive either.

The only negative was the rather unfriendly welcome by the older staff at the entrance, hence dropped one star.

After attempting to eat at a disappointing recommendation by our hotels concierge, my family and I decided to try DiMilios. We were immediately attracted to this venue next door, as the restaurant is on a large ferry boat. We knew we had to try eating in this novelty setting.

While this place gave the appearance as a tourist trap from the outside, I was actually very pleased with my experience here.

I particularly enjoyed my entre here of lobster mac and cheese. The restaurant also had a decent selection of local beers on tap, which I appreciated being able to taste as a tourist. Prices were average.

The staff was a bit forgetful when it came to the basics (forgot to give us silver wear etc). However, In general, everyone was friendly.

Would absolutely recommend this location, as it was an interesting culinary beginning to my trip!
