I love Dr. Karen Oxford. A. she's smart & knows what she's doing B. She follows up and answers all your questions C. She actually is so open minded that she invited another doctor to visit me during my visit to check her theory (btw I didn't ask her to do that, she just wanted to be sure..) Anyways, bottom line is she's awesome!!

We live in Marin, so when I had trouble with one of my eyes - I was seeing double even after getting new glasses, I was reluctant to go to the city (my husband works in the city so it's not such a big deal for him). My optometrist sent me to an ophthalmologist in Marin. I won't go through the horror story (you can check Dr. Najafi's page for that) but I was bounced from her, to a retinal specialist, and finally a Facebook friend said it sounded like her cataracts. Back to Dr. Najafi who said "oh look it is cataracts" and scheduled surgery for both eyes (although only one eye had them). I was a little nervous about this, so my husband convinced me to get a second opinion from Dr. Lin, who had done his cataract surgery a year and a half ago.
I went to Pacific Eye Associates. Of course Dr. Najafi's office hadn't yet sent my records, but they did their own tests anyway. MUCH more extensive than any of the THREE doctors I had seen in Marin. Finally I had a vision test with the "which is better, #1 or #2" thing and suddenly I wasn't seeing double.
Dr. Lin, who is a SURGEON, gave me three options. he said my left eye has cataracts which seem to be growing, and my right eye has a very small one (overlooked by all other doctors). I could have surgery on the left eye, with a lens only slightly better than my natural lens, or have a multifocal lens and wear a contact in my right eye. he refused to do surgery on a perfectly good eye (which the other surgeon was eager to do). Finally he said I could get new glasses, which would make my vision good for a while anyway, giving me time to see what the cataracts would do. Imagine, a surgeon who did not push surgery! I am going with the latter option, and will see him again in a year to see how my cataracts are progressing. What a HUGE relief!
I can't recommend him highly enough - no trouble with the front desk, although the appointment was over two hours, that's the same as at all the other doctors I saw, and I went from test to test quickly. Sat about 10 minutes waiting to dilate, but that was really the only waiting I did. THANK YOU to all the staff who were so nice when I was so worried! Dr. Lin was personable, and funny, and made me feel like I had options. I love him!

I just returned from a visit with Dr. So. His office is busy, the staff efficient and friendly, and Dr. So, himself, is smart, personable, patient, thorough and charming. I left with good news and that makes things even better, but I would totally recommend him for anyone seeking professional eye care and will be seeing him again next year, for sure.

Several weeks ago, my mom had her eye exam with Dr. Lin to evaluate her cataracts. He was friendly and patient with my mom during the examination. His office scheduled the surgery to be performed by Dr. Lin for today.

At CPMC this morning, Dr. Lin checked on my mom as she was being prepared for the procedure. He confirmed the procedure and ensured her of the process. When my mom returned to the patient room after her procedure, Dr. Lin came by and stated that my mom did well and the procedure was successful and that he would see us at the upcoming follow-up appointment.

Dr. Lin is a personable doctor with his nice bedside manners and reassurances to the patient and family members.
