Dr, Rothbart performed surgery on my spine (L4/5, and L5/S1) in August 2018. I went from ten years of debilitating, 24/7, excruciating pain, to no pain whatsoever. Prior to surgery, Spine Team preformed the 3 injections required by Blue Cross Blue Shield. My insurance would not pay for lumbar surgery unless less expensive alternatives are exhausted. I knew going into the injections that they may not work. My nerve root was completely impinged.Dr. Rothbarts surgery was the best thing Ive ever done for my body.I rarely write a review, but felt compelled to write this one due to negative posts on Google, Yelp, etc. Dr. Rothbart is not only great surgeon, hes a great guy. And like anyone on top of their profession, he carries a bit of swagger, doesnt suffer fools, nor waste time. I believe he takes great pleasure with each successful surgery. And were I in his shoes, I too wouldnt take car wreck victims and the lawyers them bring with them. Sounds cold, but there are plenty of surgeons who thrive on the unusual and reconstructive aspects accidents knowing that the chance of achieving 100% pain free is unobtainable. Rothbart tells it like it is (e.g. I was told I needed to drop 25 lbs. I certainly didnt get my feelings hurt... He is right.) If you are a whiner, require hand holding, a know-it-all, or looking to stay on opioids, you may prefer another doctor. But, if you want to be free of pain, and willing to educate yourself a little on spine surgery, youll find Dr. Rothbart is the very best neurosurgeon available.

My experience with this doctor was fabulous from the get go. He showed concern and listened to me and he also acted quickly and went above and beyond to ensure I got the help I needed and I got it as soon as he could manage it. There was not a single moment of unease or distrust that I felt while with him or his staff.
