I agree with all the bad reviews given. This place is so unprofessional, I hate calling in; the front desk people are not helpful at all. if I was not in the middle of treatment for glaucoma, I would look for a new eye center.

Dr. Peter ZhaoAn emergency issue with my eye had me going to NEEC for treatment. My surgery was done, not once but twice, largely in part to the severity of the problem.. When booking a F/u I was told 10wks out because my surgeon was no longer with NEEC, but saw patients 1x per month. Not happy.I was referred to Dr. Peter Zhao. This referral turned out to be the BEST part of my whole optical experience. Apprehensive at first about a new Doctor these worries disappeared upon meeting him. He is through, compassionate, listens to your concerns and answers all your questions. I did have to have a 3rd surgery and he took the time to review, even re review the procedure when I needed that. He was well aware that this was my 3rd surgery in 9 months so he made sure I was able to ask all the questions I needed to ask. I was at ease with him. His technical skill has proven to be outstanding. His pre op and post op visits help to calm nerves. Recovery was issue free. He welcomes communication with his patients at all junctures of the process.Dr. Zhao is one of the best eye surgeons in this area.

After months of waiting for an appointment, I received a message on the Friday before my Monday 9:30 a.m. appointment that my health insurance would not be accepted. Over the following weekend before my Monday morning appointment I received a message about my appointment which was set at the Boston office. I had made the appointment for the Wellesley office. I did not have time to change my schedule for the longer trip and left a message that I would not be there I prepaid my co-pay of $45. I'd like to have a refund. And I do not recommend this office.

After having to wait months for an appointment for eyelid surgery for dry eye, the office of Alison B. Callahan, MD left a message on the Friday before my Monday 9:30 AM appointment that they would not honor my insurance. Another message over the weekend gave me directions to the wrong office. I paid my copay on line and they owe me a refund and an apology but since I don't expect much, the refund will be fine.
