My elderly mom's appt was at 10am. Mind you, she's in a wheelchair and it's not easy to get anywhere. At 10:30 I went up to the front desk and reminded them of her appt time, and then they finally called us back. The assistant that did the refraction and basic exam was very patient and careful with my mom. But then my poor mom had to wait a long time with her eyes dilated for Dr. Barker to do the actual exam. By now it was 11:30 and I walked out to remind them again that she needed to be seen. Dr. Barker asked my mom if there was any reason someone recommended her vision to be checked, or any reason a prescription change might be needed. After his 2-minute exam, he told us everything was fine and to "have a blessed day," but never bothered to apologize for our wait or to thank us for our patience. The checkout desk employee apologized to us, but why wouldn't the doctor of the practice be as humble? You won't take responsibility for your professionalism but you want to tell me to "have a blessed day"? Really?!?

Its been a year and a half after my lasik surgery and I am now experiencing eye problems with my left eye. It is worse than it was prior to the surgery. The doctor didnt use a tool to hold my eye open until after I closed it during the procedure and they had to restart. I cant go back to fix it with out having to pay for that too. Staff was nice but unfortunately I did not have a good experience over all.

2 stars because the doctor was nice to my 8 year old daughter. I rarely leave reviews but, after my experience that was not the best, I decided to share. They have high reviews maybe they had a bad day. First, they have you fill out pre-registration before appointment day. This all includes your medical information, date of birth, name, address etc I had to fill this out 3 times for myself and 2 children. They ask questions on the pre-registration online form, so they are prepared if you want to pay additional cost for pictures of the eye ($30-45 cost) I said no on 2 on the forms and 1 for my teenage son. Made it to appointment and had to fill out the same information medical number, date of birth, address, phone number etc all over again. I was not happy the point for pre-registering so that in appointment day its less work. I have never been to a doctors office in which I had to do it all over. Yes, your name possible dat e of birth but you confirm the information you already entered is available. Second, the guy taking the pictures ask my 8 year old to come to the back so he could do her tests (I never recommend that they should always tell the parent the 8 year old is nextweird) but of course I follow my daughter. Then he is trying to take the picture of the eye ($the extra fee) and I stated I declined this service on the website. His response oh okay. Not prepared. My turn, he said are you getting picture of the eye (extra fee) I said no, and I filled that out yesterday on the pre-registration. Of course I pay for our service, along with the clerk and the guy that took pictures of my sons eye. My bill was high, in addition to my son-but I paid. It did not sit well with me why my bill was high, tried to call could not get through. Drive back to the appointment I asked for our break down of billing, I was told by clerk I have to wait 24-48 hours. I asked why my bill was high they charged me for the pictures of the eye. Very annoyed I remained calm and professional asked to fix this issue. The guy that was in charge of filling out the paperwork properly and taking the photos stated yes she did not take pics I forgot to uncheck. Really, if the pre-registration was actually looked at and followed it would not have been checked in the first place. Also, he heard her give me my price he did not even step in, and double check. Just a huge inconvenience. I have to verify with insurance they did not submit they completed a service they did not do, in addition have to wait till Monday, to make sure my payment of extra charges was canceled. Annoying and weird. I had the feeling that they want to sneak those charges& service anyway and hope the customers dont realize it. I know its a struggle for everyone and businesses they just gave me a shady feeling. ******WATCH YOUR BILLING, and make sure you ask before they use machines if its a cost or necessary. ****** However, again the doctor was kind.

Very concerning office practices during recent visit. Two (2) star review is essentially a star each for technician and doctor.Explanation:These comments are not related to doctor / staff administering exam, but rather to the clerical / front office staff. When my routine, annual exam was completed and I went to checkout, I was told I had a bill of approximately $100. I know for a fact that my vision insurance covers one (1) routine eye exam per year, so I began to question this amount. I was immediately met with a combative attitude from the woman behind the desk. She was rude and began "explaining" to me that my exam was medical in nature, and was thus billed to my medical insurance (not vision). I attempted to explain that I have received the exact same exam four (4) years in a row without a bill (same insurance provider), and that when I setup the appointment I specifically asked for a routine eye exam only (to satisfy insurance discount requirement through employer). She asked who I made the appointment with (like if I did not remember, then this is my fault). She told me she was just "reading what was on the sheet" and that my responsibility was the approximately $100. She said that this appointment was a follow up from when I was there the day before. I told her I was NOT there the day before and that the last time I was there was one (1) year ago for my annual eye exam. It was not until I said that I refused to pay the amount that she went to get the office manager. After a few more minutes, they finally admitted their mistake and said that it should have been billed to my vision insurance all along. It is concerning to me that if I had not been questioning / paying attention, I could be out $100. It is also unacceptable to be met with such a combative attitude when simply questioning the amount of my bill.
