Not a great first experience. 2.5 hours for an initial exam and consultation. Lots of waiting, multiple times for each portion of the visit, even though there was never more than two other patients in the waiting room. The office was in disarray, and they tried to do part of my exam in the waiting room! At the end, when I had to ask twice for my exam results, I was told their printer isn't working, and they'd mail them. On the plus side, the doctor seemed very knowledgeable and took his time going over options. I may very well have a procedure done there in spite of a less than stellar first impression. Oh, one other thing: I got an email from them asking to take a survey to give them feedback. It then takes you to a simple question: would you recommend us to a friend? If you answer yes it takes you to public review sites, if no it asks you to tell them directly what they can improve. My fear is that's why they have such high reviews...

Also, the last person they had me wait in the waiting room to see was their money guy. He straight up lied to me about how much they usually charge for the procedure we were discussing. He said they were offering me a discounted promotional price but the price being offered was the same as their normal rate that at least two other people paid for their procedures at vastly different times. And no cash discount vs. their 18 month no interest financing since it was a promotional rate (which doesn't make sense anyway.)

Update: It's been almost two weeks since my visit and I still haven't received the test results they promised to mail so I felt compelled to knock off another star (from 3 to 2). When I called in to inquire, the operator sent me to someone's voicemail.

In addition, I'm no longer convinced the doctor gave good advice. He gave me a couple of contacts to try out to approximate what LASIK or raindrop lense insertion would be like. I can only read/see marginally better than without the contact. I've decided to get a 2nd opinion elsewhere.

Ordered glasses, wait 2 weeks.Bifocal crooked, returned same day, sent back, wait 2 weeks.Wrong prescription, returned following day, sent back, wait 2 weeks.Unhappy with Transitions after 3 days, was told I could upgrade to Active Transitions but would have to pay the $20 difference. When he looked it up, the upgrade was not available on the Polycarbonate lens and I would have to downgrade to plastic but would not credit me the $70 diffrence in lens price. When asked for a refund, I was told the order was over 45 days old and they did not have to provide a refund (or even offer to upgrade the Transistions) but would, minus a 20% stocking fee.I was happy with the Eye Exam.

Major dry eyes post surgery it's been over two years, and no I was not informed of the situation. I personally knew it was a complication just because I did research but I did not know I would be a higher risk candidate. It's also very difficult to get on schedule with this clinic. Facility is clean though.

The cookies and coffee in the waiting room is nice but I don't think this is worth it anymore. To know that your patients are paying $16 for parking, I think the staff needs to be a little more thorough. The first time I came I told them I wanted to do the exam included with my insurance- I paid $150 extra and they said it's because I wanted contacts and they had to do a full exam of my contacts and everything. Okay, I understand that services cost- I would've just liked to know, "what you are doing on this second part of your exam is not covered in your plan and it's going to be 3 electric bills more- is that okay with you?" To me that's real service and I've been in service oriented roles all my life. I stomached it though and just settled with, "I didn't understand all that was going on, the costs and everything involved this time." The next time I went in for an exam- I made it clear, over the phone, when I arrived at the front desk and right before they took me into the doctor's office, "I ONLY want the glasses prescription right now and the exam included in my insurance coverage." The doctor told me: I'm going to pay an extra $65 because I would need her prescription to order more contacts, so I'm really killing 2 birds in one stone. I would've had to come back again to get the contact prescription. However, I have enough contacts to last me for awhile right now- it's up to me to decide when I want to order contacts and to come in again in the spring. When they're doing all these things with your eyes- there's no way to tell whether it's for glasses or contacts or what kind of prescription they're writing. That's why I made it clear THREE TIMES- I'm only here this time for my glasses prescription (I honestly want to go without contacts for awhile)- I only want that exam covered by my insurance which includes the glasses prescription.Additionally, before seeing the doctor, you have to wait a good 40 minutes (honestly). This has been a consistent thing when they take you to that 2nd waiting room area, I try to forgive it b/c I end up 10-15 min late circling those garages 20 min for parking . The waiting room is nice, the doc and techinician is nice but I'm going to try my husband's place next time- he's never had ANY of these issues, the parking is free and he says he hasn't had to wait more than 10 or 15 min. for any part of his exam.
