I don't recommend Dr. Loden if you are looking for a doctor to help you make informed decisions on an elective surgery. Price of procedures? How necessary is one procedure compared to another? He will act offended and proceed to tell you, in a condescending manner, that based on those questions you are making poor decisions. If you do still decide to use him as a surgeon, I hope you are 100% happy with the results. If not, he will act as though it is your fault for not being happy with his work.

If cataract surgery is involved don't forget to ask them how much more than Medicare will pay they are going to charge you.. They can bill whatever they want and you will be responsible for the difference in addition to whatever they charge for the other work.. Mine bill was substantially more and it did not occur to me to ask prior to the work. They know exactly how much more you will have to pay but don't mention it until the bill comes.

Just brought in an elderly hard of hearing family friend to have a routine eye exam by Dr. Carrico. The girl that started the exam was pleasant but failed to adjust her speech for someone that was wearing hearing aids. Would turn her head and look away as she was speaking to him. Then Dr. Carrico arrived to finish the exam. He was much rushed. Hard for an older person to follow and understand Dr. Carrico instructions. He had no time to listen to the concerns of the patient. Was extremely condescending and rude. Dr. Carrico laughed at the patient and brushed the concerns to the side. He failed to educate and explain in a clear fashion why the patient had double vision. Horrible treatment. I will never bring anybody to this office again.

All was good until. I had to have cataract surgery, when they were done I had nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other eye! They said by mistake but they said I might like it, don't you think they should have asked up front? Oh we can fix it!! For a fee of course, it's been at least 3 yrs now will not go back, suffer from dry eye, so many floaters haven't driven a car for fear of these things interfere, they told me to name them!
