I recently had a scare when the vision in my left eye began to decrease in a rapid manner. My cataract surgery with artificial lens seemed to be failing. I sought an Opthomologist.I have to back track a bit. I was a volunteer for the Red Cross during Hurricane Harvey. One of the men in our shelter had been scheduled for cataract surgery but it had been cancelled due to the storm. The medical team found Dr Luke Barker who agreed to care for this gentleman that had been displaced and they requested that I accompany him to Dr Barker's. The experience of walking through 2 surgeries and the follow-ups was really a pleasure. I have been a nurse for 40 years and I was very impressed with their office and care. In fact, I tend toward the hyper critical because I have encountered so many offices where the staff is a huge detriment to the practice secondary to their rudeness and lack of compassion. Completely the opposite with Mann Eye Institute.When I was frightened for my sight, I remembered the kindness of Dr Barker at Mann Eye Institute and scheduled an appointment. I just cannot say enough about his knowledge, professionalism, and beautiful, loving heart. From the moment of approach to the welcoming and caring front desk staff, to the pre testing, to his exam, I was reassured and absolutely certain they were hearing my distress. I was very nervous and they took great care to see that I understood and answered all of my questions.Gratefully, the fix was one that Dr Barker could do right there in the office. He made space in his schedule to perform a YAG procedure and cleaned the deposits that were taking my vision from my lens . I left with my vision restored and a deeply grateful heart. Their service to me was so selfless and beautiful. I can only promise to pay it forward. To hold and comfort someone that is frightened as they did is beyond professional, it is Love in action. I just cannot say enough wonderful words about Dr Barker and his staff. Thank you all so much.

I'm actually writing this review for my mom because she won't stop talking about how in aw she is. Really though she was blind as a bat and after my dad got her a coupon for this surgery for Christmas, two months later she says she's been fully recovered and actually in a good mood for once. My mom doesn't technology so this is me doing it for her.

I was referred to Dr. Barker for a specialist opinion and couldn't be anymore pleased. Dr. Barker and his staff gave me outstanding service. I was scheduled and seen immediately. Everyone I came into contact with was soooooo friendly and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about this place. You've definitely gained a new patient or two....my mom wants to switch over to you guys also! Thanks for being so awesome!

I saw Brian Wright, M.D. at Mann Eye Institute several weeks ago for cataract surgery. Dr. Wright is an exceptional ophthalmologist and surgeon. The surgery was easy, painless and I was able to see 20/20 without glasses the very next day. I chose Dr. Wright because my wife and I are both optometrists and refer patients to him. Every patient my wife has referred raves about their experience with Dr. Wright. As optometrists, we know that Dr. Wright is on the cutting edge of cataract and refractive surgery (pun intended). He utilizes the most advanced and innovative laser technology and his surgical skills are impressive. Dr. Wright is very compassionate, personable, approachable and very easy to talk to. It is obvious that his patients wellbeing is most important to him. I also want to comment about the staff at the Sugar Land office and the Museum District office and surgical center of Mann Eye Institute. Tina, the co-management coordinator for Dr. Wright, was instrumental in facilitating my surgery appointments and accommodated my schedule. She was amazingly helpful. Everyone was exceptionally courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. And it is apparent that they all enjoy their job and value what they do. It was an awesome experience for me. If you want a phenomenal surgical experience with a great outcome, I would highly recommend Dr. Wright and Mann Eye. Thank you-Dr. Wright and staff at Mann Eye Institute.
