    Amber in the optical department is wonderful. She makes an effort to get to know her clients on a personal level. The customer service she provides keeps me and my family returning to Mann.

    My experience was very satisfactory. I was please to be in an out very quickly with all my questions answered and glasses ordered. My only suggestion that I wish they had more options when I was there. The other frame that i received I think was a little small but wearable.

    My wife and I were in the waiting area browsing through the sunglasses. Josie introduced herself without a heavy sales routine, answered questions, and provided information we had not considered asking. Although we were not intending to buy sunglasses, Josies professionalism and focus on material information influenced us into buying two pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses. Thank you Josie.

    I could go on and on about how fantastic Mann Eye is and how wonderful my LASIK experience has been, but everyone else has already done that. So instead, Im gonna give you the 411 on what to expect from start to finish. Because you know, thats the part that nobody really talks about.On the day of the consultation, youll be there for about 1.5 hours. They will check every little square millimeter of your eyeballs with every machine known to mankind. Seriously. They check your prescription. They check your corneal thickness. They check your eye pressure. They dilate your eyes. They poke you with needles. JUST KIDDING! Theres no needles. Just bright lights and eye drops. Its a breeze!Once youve decided to put your big girl panties on and schedule the surgery, they tell you when to stop wearing your contacts. For me, it was 4 days before my surgery which meant 4 days at work in really nerdy glasses. But thats perfectly ok because all the articles I read online said I would have to wear glasses for 2 weeks. Needless to say, I was a happy camper with just 4 days.On the day of surgery, youll be there for about 1.5 to 2 hours. The first thing they do is check your eyeballs again. Did your prescription change? Is your pressure ok? Are your corneas still nice and thick? You know, the whole measure twice cut once concept. Then they give you some Valium and Ibuprofen (hello, new favorite feeling) plus a warm cookie and put you in a waiting room for the drugs to kick in. When they take you back to the surgery room, theres a bed with two scary looking machines on either side. This is where the magic happens.The first machine cuts your corneal flap and the second machine zaps your vision back to perfection. Now I knew going in there that I would feel pressure when they cut the flap, but oh man I was so not ready for that kind of pressure. It didnt hurt, but it was very, very uncomfortable. The good news is it only lasted about 5-10 seconds so its over before you realize how much it sucks. Once the flap is cut, they tell you to focus on the red light (or maybe the green light, I cant really remember since I was in a Valium induced world of my own) and bam youre done. One eye down, one more to go. Lather, rinse, repeat. All in all, I think youre in the surgery room for maybe 6 minutes, and the actual laser part is probably 60 seconds total. Freaky fast! Jimmy Johns would be proud.Once theyve zapped your eyeballs, they tape these plastic shields to your face and send you home to sleep. I repeat. Go home and sleep! I couldnt fall asleep for an hour and my eyes burned like the fires of hell. So if youre going to fall asleep, then lucky you because youll bypass feeling any discomfort at all. But if youre like me and cant sleep, then just know that the burning goes away after about 2-3 hours so just bear through it.Some tips I would recommend-1. Put your eyedrops in the refrigerator. The cold drops feel amazing when you put them in your eyes!2. If you dont want to tape the eyeshields to your face every night, then use the band from an old pair of safety goggles and fasten it to the eyeshields. The shields have little slits all over so its super easy to ghetto-rig them into goggles.3. I know your momma told you not to trust strangers on the internet, but TRUST ME. Your nerves are going to be the worst part of the whole thing. The actual surgery is a piece of cake and the recovery is the ice cream on top. Its easy peasy!Shout out to Dr. Paul Mann for being the best dang surgeon on the planet! You da mann (lol get it?)
